Yes, as equally as Jim Jones and David Koresh believed they were god's prophets.

How Can an Elder Fade Successfully?

As you fade, go ahead and grow a beard, go out in service with it & give a talk in the school with it. It bugs the crap out of the elders because they have no biblical grounds for the ban. Oh they will try and guilt you, but really they have no grounds and they know it.
It also gets other publishers asking questions. I had so many pubs tell me the beard looked good on me & did not understand the ban.
After an experience like that, once you stop attending meetings, the elders are glad to see you gone and don't want you back pushing the envelope on their non-bible based rules and regulation.
Worked for me.

JWoods, Yes. The home page indicates that it is from family & friends. Looks to be home grown web-site.

Really?
No, really WTF?
So this is such a big issue that the the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witness finds the need to put this in print?
And how many brothers & sisters have been "stumbled" right out of the organization over the United Nations scandal?
The Governing body prefers to let those leave and continue to leave then to ever accept any responsibility for their actions.
Hypocrites!

If Freddie was still alive, he probably would be all over the 2012 date. A good way to get new recruits. It worked great in 1975.

Good News to Make You Happified
by Farkel inhappified is a real watchtower word(tm), by the way!.
if you want to give the wts credit for anything, then at least give them credit for their remarkably simple solution to every ill suffered by mankind.. it is a "one size fits all" solution and might be part of the appeal the wts has attracting people who have a hard time with reason and common sense.. they won't specifically tell you what that solution is, though.
if they did, they would even get less converts than they get now, and currently they ain't gettin' many.

Jehovah's Witnesses - No Different From the World
by metatron inwhat kind of problems characterize today's world?
first, hateful division - in which anyone who doesn't belong to your particular nation/tribe/sect/gender preference/sub-culture is denigrated and somehow, inferior to you.. next, how about deception?
is that rife in the world today?.

Many good peoplewho joined the cult of Jim Jones were addicted to drugs before becoming a christain.
So this proves that in some cases joining a cult can help one get off drugs. It's all in how you spin it.
Of course the watchtower will spin it with those who joined Jim jones were "christains" not christains.
The more that I am away for the WT religion, the more I realise that it is less christain then most others who claim to be christain. Who would Jesus disfellowhip?

Yes, I believe it is, but they make up for their misery by dressing up in their best polyester suits.
