During my last few months at the KH, we had a young brother about the same age as Richie who passed the mics. He like to wear this cranberry colored suit and the elders would not let him pass the mics until he quit wearing that suit to the meetings.

in the writ just served on quotes, one item seems to stand out.. if they claim that as a baptized dub, when he left he was in breach by quoting their literature, does this tell us that the new baptism vows mean that the candidate has entered into a contract in association with the organization?
after all contractual partners in business are referred to as "associates".

the disaster relief committee at patterson organized 3 meetings this past memorial day, monday september 5, 2005. the meetings were held in lake charles, louisiana; bossier city, louisiana; and ball, louisiana.
over 1,200 elders were in attendance from louisiana, missouri, arkansas, and texas.
i took horrible notes, but want to share a few things.. the elder opening the meeting emphasized the importance of confidentiality.
Are the KHs self insured through the WTBTS? If so, every congregation nation wide will be getting one of those letters asking for donations to cover the cost of rebuilding.
i googled some different religion home pages this morning to see how some religions/churches were responding to the disaster on the gulf coast.. all the ones that i checked, catholic, baptist, lutheran, presbyterian all made mention of the disaster and had already started some relief efforts.
the cathoic church has its own relief website, catholicrelief.org where various relief efforts around the world are listed.
(one interesting one is that the catholic church is teaming with the mormons to bring food to niger) .
The JW response to human suffering, oh well, wait on Jehovah's kingdom to fix it.
This more than anything makes me ashamed that I was ever a JW.
Now I am going to the red cross to make a donation for a good cause that will actually help hurting people. I have a lot of making up to do for the amount of $$ I dumped down the rat hole of a charity called the WTBTS.

now my hand is going to be forced and i will have to be baptized by the end of the year.
my gf wants my decision very soon, like the next couple of days.
Hey Buck, Two years is a long time of dating without sex. Your not having sex, right? Because, if you are, she should be getting disfellowshiped not you getting baptized. If that is the case, maybe she is just sexually frustrated and knows that you can't get married until you get dunked. On the other hand, if you are having sex, then give her an ulimatum to back off or you will turn her into the elders for all the times you fornicated together. Once she is disfellowshiped, you may stand a chance together outside of the WT.

It really shouldn't take that much thought to see what going down here. She only cares about you if your a Dub. It's conditional love. If you ever change your mind in the future, it will be a disaster. She does not love you for you, she loves you for the fact that you may become a JW. If she really loved you, she would want to pressure you before your ready. She is ready to break it off by December and throw away everything you have built because you are not on their time table. Be a man, break up with her first and find a girl who loves you for who you are, not what they want you to be. You may be sad now, but it won't compare to how sad you will be when you wake up this reality years down the road. How long have you been dating? How long have you been studing with JWs?
