  Who cares about Jesus?

  one thing that initially disturbed me when i was questioning the organization was their lack of focus on jesus.

  whether you believe in him or not, you have to admit that jws focus mainly on jehovah and his organization.

  to the apostles their entire message was about jesus.

  If you'd like to see a group of JWs get scared looks on their faces, start talking about Jesus to them.

  As I began my exit from WT world, but still commented at meetings, there was a period of about 6 months that I decided that I would only make comments at the meetings if it was related to Jesus in some way.

  By the end of the 6 months, most of the JWs viewed me as some kind of Jesus Freak. This is an interesting experiment those who still attend might want to try. It freaks them out, but what can they say.

  so i get the call a couple weeks ago from the secretary concerning my time for the month.

  he called on a thursday and said that he is looking forward to seeing me at the meeting tonight and to make sure i turn in my time for the month.

  " all the while thinking, yeah right, i'm not even going to be at the meeting let alone turn in my fake time!.

  I knew one Secretary who could fill out someones time slip *before* he even called them on the phone to get it, and would nail it for several pubs. that he

  had to call every month.

  He knew it was fake time, and we laughed about it, but he still turned it in.

  Need help with a shepherding call!

  so the elders are coming by for a shepherding call on tuesday.

  i am not ready to "out" myself just yet.

  i don't know how to act when they are there.

  My ex used to act much in the same way, and even threatened divorce on a regular basis. After 18 years, I had enough even though I owned a home and had 3 children in teens. I told her one day, the next time you threaten to divorce me, I will walk out that door and never come back. It worked for just about a year (that was a long time) then she did it and I walked out that night.

  I spent the time until then getting my ducks lined up in a row. Yes, I took a big financial hit, but as my lawyer said, it is just short term... In 5 years you will be better off financially then her, in 10 years.... and in 15 year... and he is right. I now own a new home and she lives in a travel trailer even though I walked away from our home and let her have 100% of the equity. There is no amount of money in the world that is worth living with this on a daily basis. You will be better off in the long run. I know first hand.

  Prov 21:9,19 - I remember one time, during one of her bitching sessions, I walked out of the house, put the ladder up and went and sat on the roof. When she eventually found me and wanted to know what the hell I was doing up there, I told her to go read Prov 21..... she got the point, but still did not help in the long run.

  Fast forward 10 year, I have a new life, wonderful wife, we love and respect each other and have never been happier. My ex is still the same misserable bitch that she always was, crazy and can't find a man that wants anything to do with her on a long term basis.

  If you don't work directly for a Jdub, you can excape the cult without having to move too far away. Just transfer to another hall where you know very few people in another close by town have your card transfered and after attending a few meeting, stop going, they may call on you once or twice, but in general if they don't know you very well the new congregation won't put too much effort into getting you to come back. The fade away and enjoy your new life. Best of luck!

  Rejected by Immediate Family

  as most of you know, my husband and i da's ourselves almost 8 months ago.

  the communication with my family stayed pretty normal.

  they would call once in a while and text me.

  The loss of extended family is one of my biggest regrets of being a witness. Of course this was all out of my control and was told that 'they' did not want anything to do with us because we became JWs. We got together on a regular basis with extended family until we became JWs, then it all ended.

  Embrase your extended family. Understand your being upset, but don't think it would do any good to email them. It would just validate their actions of shunning to try to get you to return.

  had a good look into the doctrine, beliefs and practices of jws and to be honest, i don't really see anything wrong with it at all.. it's biblical and i've had such an eye opener the past year or so reading some of their books and magazines .

  is there really any real reasons why i shouldn't want to get involved further?

  By your logic, It would be loving to get a gun and blow out the brains of little children so they will have a chance to live forever? This way they won't have the chance to grow up godless and then die forever? Could I save the young children in my family by doing this? It would really be loving in the long run, wouldn't it?

  JW paid 13-year-old girl to keep quiet about sex abuse

  a man who sexually abused a 13-year-old girl and took obscene photographs of her has been jailed for three years four months.. liverpool crown court heard that 54-year-old geoffrey massey would pay the teenager after molesting her at his home in an attempt to keep her quiet.. but his crimes eventually came to light after he confessed to his daughter, who told other relatives.. in april, following the revelations, his young victim took an overdose and had to be treated at hospital.. jailing 54-year-old massey, who is a jehovah's witness, judge adrian lyon said i have regard for the totality of the offences and in particular the last count, which dealt with a number of photographs you took of the child, aged 13, on your behalf.. there seems to have been a number of occasions on which you engaged in sexual activity with this child.. when the girl was interviewed by police she initially denied massey had done anything wrong.

  she told officers he had given her the money for cleaning work.. but after officers re-interviewed her after getting more information, she revealed what had been happening, saying she had felt too foolish to admit it.. massey, of twickenham drive, leasowe, admitted sexual activity with a child, two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one further offence of making indecent photographs.. the pictures were never discovered because he had deleted them from his computer.. lee bonner, defending, said once his client had begun the abuse he was too scared to stop for fear his victim would expose his crimes.. essentially, once he had begun he found it very difficult to stop, not because of any particular sexual satisfaction, but because once it had begun and he had begun to give her money he feared the complainant might tell people when the flow of money stopped.. mr bonner told how massey, who had no previous convictions, had left his family, but had been the subject of a hate campaign in his community.. source: http://www.wirralglobe.co.uk/news/8718393.jehovah_s_witness_paid_13_year_old_girl_to_keep_quiet_about_sex_abuse/.
