The god of the bible could have banned slavery or shellfish.
He choose shellfish.
That's all I need to know about the god of the bible!
i have been listening to podcasts by dan carlin and his excellent series on persia and the spartans, called king of kings.. its a refreshing way to hear unbiased accounts of history, untainted by religious beliefs.. a part of the podcast dealt with the jews but it put into perspective their place in world history and events.
pretty much just another tribe- sometimes rebellious, allowed to exist under the rule of a major power, allowed to worship their own gods exactly like the other tribes around them.. another part that caught my interest was the account of slavery and it made me think about the way wt and other christian religions have tried to reconcile the idea that it was ok in those days for jews to own slaves because they had laws to protect the slaves.. the podcast made me realise a lot of apologists of slavery obviously forget how a person becomes a slave in the first place.
apologists like wt say it was ok because it was part of the economy and the way life was, which totally skips over the important part.. after a war, when most of the men were killed or wounded on the battlefield by the winning side, whoever was left, men, women and preferably young virgins, were taken back to the homeland of the victors and sold at the slave markets.
The god of the bible could have banned slavery or shellfish.
He choose shellfish.

david can't xsplane of the gibbering body is urging jw's to go out in field serve-us today to target their bible studies, return visits, and inactive jw's for a second time with the invitation to the annual rejection of christ - just in case they've "forgotten the date" or "lost their invitation.
go to 1 minute 45 seconds for the marketing speech.. https://tv.jw.org/#en/mediaitems/webhomeslider/pub-jwb_201904_14_video.
could the cult's hierarchy be fearing reduced attendances this year - especially of "interested ones"?.
No invitation for me, of the fader class. I guess they have finally written me off.
Jehovah has truly blessed me.
i was howling watching cedars latest video of tm111 buying a dozen bottles of scotch ((maccallans scotch).
you can't write this stuff.
right, i'm now off to buy a bottle of maccallans 😂..
This would be a real scandal if Top Shelf Tony would have purchased a dozen cigars at the same time.
The booze could be gifts for others. We really don't know. It could be a years supply. We really don't know.
What do we really know from this video? Tony is a fat fVck who obviously spends little to no time trying to stay fit.
so what exactly have they been doing now , with the exception of intervening thousands of years ago, what exactly do they do in heaven?
.
They intervene all the time when someone wants a new job or can't find their car keys. They help sports players win, but only the christian ones.
But they don't intervene when a child is being raped by a priest. That is outside their lane.

the latest trend seems to be that you can't go to any store without being asked for money.. no, not the money for the things you went in there to purchase, extra money for the store to donate to charity.. yes, that's right, the big-name stores, often making $millions in profits, ask you to give them extra money so that they can give it to charity and get some publicity about how awesome they are so that they'll look good to their customers, like, erm, you.. it seems to have ramped up more in the last year or so and frankly, it pisses me off.
if i want to donate to some cause, i'll give the money straight to them.
i hate that it puts people on the spot to guilt them into donating and imagine some people on a tight budget may give even when they can't really afford it.. often you don't know what the charities really are (it's vague like "to help children") or how the money will be spent or even how much will go on the people it's supposedly to help (charity is a multi $billion industry, some just exist to pay themselves).. so what to do?
And the worst is when you don't even leave your house and two religious folks wake you up on Saturday morning asking for a donation to their world wide work.
he was basically a good man, just a believer in the religion.
when we were both elders we were best of friends and then things deteriorated when i was not an elder for a while.
then after becoming an elder again, i slowly drifted away from the religion and he drifted further away from me.
