Grazing land. Sheep. Pastures. Tribes. Foreskins. Brideprices. Warfare. Slaughter. Human sacrifice. Stoning sons & daughters. Talking snakes. Worldwide floods. Incest. Littering.
You got all that from Ezekiel 34? I'm impressed!
was in a chat room the other night and this guy quotes ezekiel 34 at me - says it refers to those considered apostates by the wt society.
interestingly v14 sounds like the net to me ... comments welcomed ...

dr mcgrath-i would like to quote marshall cooke qc on this, but first let me say that.
there is the potential for fraud.
it is the aec's job to look at fraud.
I always understood that Dubs voted "informally", i.e. they'd turn up to the booths to vote because it's the law but just drop a blank ballot paper in the box.
Personally I'd like to see the Australian Parliament debating the GST exempt status of 'Towers and Awakes - whether or not the "donation arrangement" is just a tax dodge. My letter to the ATO (Australian Tax Office) is another one of those things on my "to do" list...
Just a thought - why is Oz the only English speaking country honest enough to use the word "tax" in the name of its tax department - US, Canada, NZ and the UK all use "revenue" - more cute and cuddly perhaps.
when even an environmentalist leftie admits that things are getting better, what hope is there for an early end to this system of things??.

Got that date wrong too, YK. It's Sunday. The reference to tomorrow (now today) was about the unseasonally warm weather we're having even in winter. If you want to wring your hands and hate your life, go ahead - I for one will enjoy whatever good times and experiences God sends my way - I'm not an ungrateful bastard like you, I'm afraid.

No Godrules, not on the basis of one article. On the the basis of many measures of human welfare across the globe over time. Life is getting better for almost everyone across the globe - even people in the Third World are eating more and living longer than they were. Your vague feeling that things are bad all over and getting worse is only because the meat in due season you are being fed really IS poor quality and getting worse - a cover of a Watchtower showing a load of shit going down isn't proof of anything.
I had an old Dub man come to my door and show me such a cover of a Watchtower and he said "how awwwwwwwful" life was getting. I looked at the cover of the rag and said :"What, you were shot at by a soldier with a machine gun on your way over here???" and "You were confronted by a drug addict with a needle up his arm??". He got a bit cranky for some reason, but he lost the foot in the door he would usually get with that opener.
You see Godrules, I've known about these positive figures and stats for some years now, even before this article came out. Lomborg is just the latest of a whole raft of thinking people who are beginning to wonder: "If life is so bad and getting worse so quickly, why does it actually look so good?"

Sorry YK, but the weight of evidence is against you, no matter how bad you may "feel" things are getting. You're a sick bastard, trying to deprive those of us who suddenly realise we've now got a life to look forward to of that little bit of enjoyment. Why not just inwardly gloat about our impending doom instead of your continual predictions which always seem to be a "little premature"? It would certainly make you appear to be nearly as smart as you believe yourself to be. Bluster away, YK, but we're looking forward to a 24 degree temp day here in Wollongong tomorrow, at the tail end of winter. We'll have a wonderful apostate BBQ in Sydney on Sunday too, God willing. Don't take life for granted, but take advantage of it when it is granted to you.
well not quite, but would you like to come to a bbq?.
next sunday, near sydney (the olympic city).
say around mid-day to start.. we could have a great time sharing experiences, no i don't mean the type you get first up each day at a district convention!
Several times each year non-denominational conventions are held at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains.
My wife's off to some womens' do at the Christian convention centre in Katoomba next month - she's hoping it's warm because they've got her booked into a caravan!

Okay, check, gottit!
Now, I've got to get there via public transport from Wollongong, i.e. by train. Can someone pick me up from some convenient station on their way? (Please email me)

Yes, I got onto Simon a few years back and realised that just about everything I'd ever been told in my upbringing and later religious (premillennial) indoctrination about impending doom was basically wrong. I was brought up in an environmentalist household during the 60s and 70s and it was not unlike being brought up in a Dub household: I didn't expect to live to see adulthood before the end. Although "the end" of my upbringing was not the start of something good as it would have been for a Dub kid - it was horrible death, either slowly (pollution, ozone depletion, rising sea levels, slow starvation) or quickly through nuclear holocaust.
Life in the west is good and getting better. Not in every case, as my daughter's death testifies, but overall, things are getting better. So, let's stop whingeing and get on with the good life!
