  Life in the Sphere

  i don't do poetry, just prose.. my world is a bubble; a glass sphere.

  the people around me, walking, talking, laughing, weeping i can clearly see.

  but i can't connect; they are not in my world, and i am outside theirs.

  Dubs Upstaged By New Door-to-Door Apocalyptic Religion

  interesting experience in a local blog (i thought of the dubs with those "well dressed" and "apocalypse" comments):.

  discussion i had with 2 australian conservation foundation pan handlers this week.

  acfph 1: as you know theres a lot of concern with global warming, water, erosion blah, blah, blah (at this point i rolled my eyes and lent against a wall).

  carbon offset trading is popular in this day and age.. less "atmospheric", and closer to home, many local communities use similar schemes to keep money from flowing out of the community by creating systems that allow locals to trade their services with each other either directly or indirectly.

  kind of barter, but not exactly.

  "lets" (local energy trading schemes) is one of the terms that describes these kinds of systems.

  we've learned to frisk our cats before they come in, esp.

  at night.

  they have a thing for bringing home their live catches to play with.. also, when they get all smoochy.

  "people don't want to spend four hours on a saturday cleaning - they would rather be sunning themselves or taking a walk or spending time with their family", she says.. but maybe those cleaners would rather be sunning themselves or taking a walk or spending time with their family, too?

  i was thinking about the conditional nature of "love" in the 'tower, when i realised that "conditionality" is pretty well the nature of the beast.

  hence "conditional morality".

  for example, the rules on lying: that witholding the truth from undeserving ones is not wrong.. what other examples are there?.

  My Cat Has Sleeping Sickness!

  my family went to my in-laws today for a pre-christmas do (i had to bow out due to ill-health).

  both cats have been in the house sleeping all day.

  sugar went out for about half an hour, came back in, ate some dry food and went back to his chair.
