i recently realised i have a strange habit that's been noticed by others: i look in people's fridges when i'm over at their house.
it's just a reflex action, and i only recently became aware of it.. what strange habits have you discovered that you didn't realise you had?.

More like a social club for people with a common interest - so long as the fridge is well stocked, everyone's happy!

I used to do that sort of thing, but books and magazines seem to use less aromatic inks and glues these days, and it ain't the pleasure it once was. Of course, my sense of smell might just not be what it once was. I used to love the smell of new paper money, when we had paper money. Now that it's printed on polymer notes, it just doesn't smell like it used to!

I am a Steve Irwin fan, and I would pay money to see the stingray that killed Irwin nailed to a stake with it's own barb stuck in it's *&^%^%!
I'm all for "putting down a killer", but this is kind of different, in that that stingray won't keep killing because it's developed a taste for human flesh. Still, an animal that kills animal-kind's greatest defender should probably be made an example of...

i had to travel to another newspaper owned by the company i work for to learn some of their software today.
it's an open office with everyone in one room, and we had a lot of interesting conversations on all sorts of subjects.. at one point a reporter made a comment about a photo he was running, and noted that the woman had made comments that it was only with the help of the lord that she had been able to move her radio shack store to its new location.
one of the other reporters said that it was good that jesus had died on the cross 2000 years ago so that he could be available to help her out.

Whether they like Bush or not - if they have talent, people should buy their cds.
How do you make "people" buy those cds, without denying those people their freedom to spend their own dollar? How do you determine that people who stopped buying the cds did so because of politics, without being intrusive in people's lives to the extent of a KGB or Gestapo? How is the cause of freedom better served by such sweeping denials of freedom?

If I refuse to buy the cds or concert tickets of someone who's said something I find offensive, am I practicing censorship, or am I merely exercising my own rights?
If the backlash was extreme and wrong, how would you address the problem? Force the former fans to keep buying cds and concert tickets? Force radio stations to play stuff the fans aren't listening to anymore? If such force were applied, by Congress, for example, would the net result be more freedom, or less, in the USA?
