Depending on which denomination bought a KH there might be a scene or two that'd remind you of what it was like being a Witness. Some pentecostal denominations would be bound to have their pastors wander through the hall rebuking the Spirit of Religion", the "Spirit of Deception" and others. Some pentecostal groups are as suspicious about demons as Dubs. They can be amusing though, as they tend to take a proactive approach, rebuking spirits of depression, lust and whatever else seems to be the problem of the day. I couldn't just be pissed off at a friend because he'd stuffed me around; he wanted me to see a pastor to have my "Spirit of Anger" exorcised!

The Quick-Build Deception.
by Englishman ini was driving past a disused kingdom hall last week, here in wsm.
it looked very out of place with its watchtower crennelations, like a mediaevel sort of castle, with a huge sign announcing that this was now the home of the british red cross.
however, we are now blessed with a new, quick-build kingdom hall on the outskirts of town.. but this is not the true story, this quick-build kingdom hall took 3 months to erect, unlike the publicity blurb handed out to our local newspaper which claimed that the work was done in 3 days.. being involved in the building trade, i knew that the local equipment hire company had been supplying the dubs with concrete mixers, diggers, back hoes and jcb's for fully 3 months before the build officially started.. all the ground work was done weeks beforehand, all the services laid on, the roof trusses were ready and waiting as was the curtain walling and window shutters.

I'm interested to note that Bethel hasn't taken a clear position on genetic modification yet, simply noting that there are problems as well as benefits. Perhpas they're learning from their past junk science. This site is always worth a read:

Good one, TR! Fred at work cracked me up as well! Please continue to provide illustrations of life in Fredland; there are still plenty of unpublished pages of his diary!
The "workman's bumcrack" is an especially nice touch! LOL

Field Service is Officially Over Forever!
by professor ini hereby urge every single one of jehovah's witnesses nationwide to stop going out in field service!
according to the january 1, 1989 watchtower, our obligation to field service officially ended last year!:.
the apostle paul was spearheading the christian missionary activity.

Yes, it'd be wonderful if you could shove that in the Society's face and say "This says we are no longer obligated to go out in service!". However, like all light, this particular patch of illumination is as prone to fading as any other. Damn!

Each day with JW boyfriend....
by Camay inis becoming more & more intolerable, this fool has now taken.
to sleeping on the sofa and thinks he will be able to get a apartment.
with horrible credit.. i am trying not to become bitter and mean but its very hard, to see a grown man whine about his "soul" and the more i think about it.

This is what cults always do to ordinary people; they demand persection from imperfect followers, and the strain manifests itself in blatant hypocrisy and often in madness. Can't he move in with his parents or something? It doesn't do you any good having a guy around "too pure" to "taint" himself with a "wordly" woman. Perhaps you should just throw all his stuff outside the door and change the locks; he'll find somewhere to live if he relly needs to; in fact, his 'Tower comrades may actually find a place for him; putting him up because he's now being "persecuted"! He's moved over to the 'Tower's side of the bed; let him lie in it. You owe him nothing, he's treated you like dirt and he'll now be blaming you for his "spiritual weakness" while he's under your roof. You don't need that kind of crap.

They poked fun of our belief that our daughter is in Heaven; they couldn't just let that one ride, they had to win points, even at the expense of the feelings of parents whose daughter had died only 1 month earlier. Whether you believe that or not, would you have done what they did? As to why I'm going, just how do you think I could get revenge? I know I can't achieve anything in a meeting, I'd just be thrown out if I made a scene, so why would I try?
Give me a little more credit, please. I'm going to a meeting where they don't know me; I just want to sit quietly and observe. Call it a fact finding mission; I've been to a book study at an elder's house and found it to be the single most boring experience I'd ever had; I want to see if all meetings are that bad in a consistent fashion. It's just good old fashioned curiosity; it may even give me a little more empathy for those here if I see what was expected of them every Sunday...
It may even turn out to be Fred's KH, in which case, I can tell him to "F*** Off!"
