Ozzie's Wine of the Month - July 2006
by ozziepost init's been a while but here we are again with some notes of a wine that, ever seeking a fresh taste, has been chosen this month.. this month's selection came about on the occasion of the world cup final.
i was going to visit a bar (at 4 in the morning!!
) where the match was shown on a large screen.

Say, how's the KH going round your way?
They've rebuilt it. I've recently perfected my fried chicken recipe, and everytime someone drives me past the Bulli Kingdom Hall, I say" That'd make a GREAT fried chicken stand"!
We should have Ozzie try wines from down under and recommend the ones that export
The only people I've ever known to refer to NZ as "Downunder" are either NZers, or people with friends from NZ. Which one are you?

Doesn't look like Saltram exports, or if they do, they're none too forthcoming about it!
Ozzie, how about a brief recap of some previous recommendations of yours (of wines available Stateside), for the benefit of our American friends?
Stephanus,
Of the "never come between an American and a good red" class.

Limits on paper towel, tp usage at DA's. What next? Have fun w/suggestions
by juni in2 sheets of paper towel for hand drying, controlled use of toilet paper, don't dawdle while in the stall, covered mirrors, what next?.
how about maximum of 2 trips to the bathroom per day otherwise you are written up by brother bathroom monitor.
if more than that you are put on cleaning duty after the day's sessions are done.. .

Only one condom from the restroom condom dispenser per session.
BTW, are American restrooms generally equipped with condom vending machines?

Jamestown California Congregation
by Stephanus ini saw a documentary on discovery channel about treasure hunting; there was a segment about gold still being findable by traditional methods in woods creek at jamestown.
it piqued my interest, so i've done a bit of internet research on it.
not only is the area famous for its gold, and for legendary figures like mark twain, grizzly adams and the cannonball from petticoat junction, this one and a half horse town boasts a kingdom hall!.

Has anyone attended/does anyone know anyone from Jamestown Congregation?
Does field service involve accosting weekend prospectors on Woods Creek? The advantage I'd see in that is that no-one can slam a door on you!

Supporting Vegetarian/Vegan Teens
by Scully inmy youngest is toying with the idea of adopting the vegan lifestyle.
she came to me at 11pm last evening with a strict list of what she wanted me to purchase for her as soon as the store opened this morning.
her enthusiasm could easily have been mistaken for "preaching".... and i'm afraid it didn't foster a very receptive spirit in me.. my main concern is her having adequate nutrition.

Just chop her meat and cheese into cubes, paint it white and call it tofu. The only difference she'll notice is that "The tofu's been tasting a lot better, lately"

What is your town or area's claim to fame?
by free2beme inevery where you live, the local area has something about it that is either famous for something good or something bad.
as an example, you go to one town and it may have the historial site of a famous war battle.
you go to another an it might be the place something was invented, or the birthplace of someone famous.

I'll give you one guess what we're famous for.
Actually, I've only recently become aware of Wisconsin's affiliation with cheese. Before I knew it for the Green Bay Packers, University of Wisconsin, Madison (where Rodney Dangerfield's Back To School was filmed), and Misterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Kennedyyyyyyyyy!...Kennedy!

I am not that bothered, but I am a big Paul Merton fan.
Should that surprise me? I saw him in the first British series of Whose Line...?, and he couldn't have been more wooden and unfunny than if you crossed Al Gore and John Major!
