damn I knew i'd get caught if I used a car
You should have left your car where you took the first pic and hiked down the back way. They might not have noticed you until too late...

i caught a couple of the elders belting back their daily allowance of their holy 'spirit' in the form of a 40 ouncer and asked them if they wanted me to take their pictures, to which they agreed.

You suck at pasting photos, Unc!
Why does every Kingdom Hall have at least one person around whose name is Eric??
Unc, if you start driving tomorrow morning, you could join us for Christmas lunch tomorrow. Semi - serious invite. Only "semi" because you're unlikely to make the trip. But you're wlelcome if you do.
We just had ours. Roast chicken, roast pork with crackling, baked potatoes and a particularly rich gravy. Plus apple sauce for the pork.
Tomorrow I'll roast a turkey breast and it and tonight's leftovers will be served sliced cold with salad for lunch (Summer here, remember).
holy crap!
next thing ya know they'll be telling kids that gawd (the flying spaghetti monster) doesn't exist!!!

Santa is a fictional character in a made up story. The teacher told the children the truth (Santa is a fictional character in a made up story). So the teacher must now be fired because she told the kids the truth and it is the parent's right to lie to kids and tell them fictional stories are "true" stories for as long as the parents see fit. Am I missing something here, or isn't this the same thing that most of the people on this discussion board are pissed off with the WTBTS for doing to us and our family for years? Sheesh, give the teacher a break already! She told the "TRUTH"! Where is the crime here?
TRUTH is something that combats lies. Santa, the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny are just fibs; a game of let's pretend that parents play with their children, until they're old enough to move on. It's not up to the state to decide when the game should end. The parents and the kids will come to that point without any help from the powers that be.
The state should be concerned when beliefs are prompting people to deny life-saving medical procedures for their children, or encouraging them to strap on bomb belts to kill civilians. A belief that has kids leaving out milk and cookies for a kindly old man who leaves presents is hardly in the same league.

I keep forgetting that a lot of people on this board don't come from a Christmas celebrating background, hence the "well, it's hardly rocket (arugula) science!" comments. But it's not about that. It's about parents' rights in bringing up their own children. When the parents decide to rat out Santa, that's fine (and sometimes the kids'll refuse to believe them anyway, because they reckon they'll get more presents, now that there're TWO sources). But it is absolutely NOT up to the state to comandeer that right. To an ex-Dub, 11 may seem late in life, but, So what?? How many kids get to adulthood still believing in Santa?
.
so when will you be doing it?
this is a real dread for me as i hate grocery shopping at the best of times.. considering xmas day is on sunday and all the shops here are shut on xmas eve (saturday) and the veggies will be the same stuff today as tomorrow, im wondering if its too early to go today and get it over and done with................but..............it seems a long time to have veg in the fridge.. decisions , decisions................ .
We paid off a Chrisco Hamper this year, so we got most of our stuff delievered at the start of the month. It came with lots of cupboard goodies and frozen meats and vegies, party plates and Christmas Crackers. Pretty well everything we needed. So we're right.
I'll be off to cook the Christmas dinner, before long.
You know, printing that Christmas morning postcard off and sending it to Dubs around Christmas time might not be a waste of time and effort. Most would discount it as faked propaganda, but it might ring true for the odd one here and there. And might get them wondering. Everytime someone shakes the tree, such as the UN scandal, the Silentlambs stuff, etc., a few more drop out of the Watchtower tree.
over the years, the society has included half a page in their annual guidelines when planning for and attending the district convention.. in particular, they have been very insistent that only hotels on the recommended lodging list be used.. .
the language in this month's km is even more insistent than last years.. .
here is the text in full, with the original emphasis.. .
I can think of a few "bethelites" that could shake it for me. Rubber gloved, of course. Don't want any diseases ya know...
Probably just as well, too. In most Bethelites' minds, more than 3 shakes would be crossing the line between business and pleasure...

Although I don't know this as a fact, I suspect that the WTS is negotiating some pretty lucrative rebates from these hotels (which of course the rank and file JW pays) because they can guarantee a full house at $XXX per night. I believe this is why the WTS so blatantly attempts to control where the JW's stay, so they maximize their rebate. If this is the case, it is unlikely they will be getting rid of their rooming department anytime soon!
With the org's current cashflow problems, that's a given.
