  My congo is being DELETED next month!

  more details later, but it's a case of a congo that split not growing and the congo it split from losing 50% of its publishers in two years.. i'm tickled pink!.

  Like I said If a man is a hunter it tells you a lot about where he is coming from.

  For one who's just made fun of hunters' ability to read, you don't show any sign of having read (or at least understood) one damn word that LittleDrummerBoy wrote.

  And for the record, I don't hunt, I don't shoot, and I'm not overly fond of guns.

  in the area i live hunting and fishing are big sports.

  quite a few of the brothers hunt.

  they keep it under the radar, though.. what about you're area?.

  i'm sorry if this has been covered before--i'm new here.. does anyone have anything to corroborate the claim that russell used healing handkerchiefs?

  (i read the page in which he basically implies that if you donate money to him you're less likely to get sick.).

  i'm researching jw history for some articles i want to put on my freewebs site.

  IIRC, Marilyn Hickey used to send out "Spirit annointed" hankies (for the right "donation"). It's a fairly common phenomenon in TV evangelism land.

  Changing your diet - meat, dairy, sugar

  i have just finished reading 'confessions of a kamikaze cowboy' by dirk benedict.

  in the book he talks about how 'macrobiotics' (exclusion of meat, sugar, dairy among others) helped improve his health and fight cancer.

  a lot of what he says about food resonates with me, so im curious.

  As for the increase of heart disease and cancers: these are diseases of old age. When the average life expectancy was 40 - 50, the diseases of old age were rare. In the 20th century, life-expectancies doubled in the first world (due to food abundance, increased hygiene and advances in medicine), and the diseases of old age increased at a previously unknown rate. Good thing or bad thing?

  And yes, butter is better. I always believed so, even in the 80s when every health soundbite was about poly- or mono-unsaturates. Finally, after years of being yelled at for cooking "unhealthily", chefs can go back to cooking tasty food. They can use butter which imparts a great flavour ("Fat is flavour" often gets said by TV chefs these days) and is a great natural emulsifier. They are using salt again. They are only using olive oil when appropriate, instead of all the time.
