Indisputable/physical facts
by Norm inin the bizarre world that exist within the watchtower society headquarters in brooklyn you can find all kinds of strange statements.
particularly funny is the use of the expressions indisputable/physical facts.
according to the watchtower from 1922, indisputable facts showed that jesus second presence began in 1874!

the NEW Preaching work

consider this........ you did not sign anything when you "became a jw" and if you have left , drifted or even been d/fd you most likely did not officailly declare your statment to not be a jw.. so then by the power vested in freedom of religion......you still are...which means of course you are protected under the same.
ridiculous laws the faithful attenders are......... .

Well CROSSROADS,
I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
Asked the Lord above for mercy, "Save me if you please."I spose you are right, many felt a lack of enthusiasm for the door to door work.... this would have a different motivation.......but the infroaml thing has many a merit and makes peole feel more comfortable...but then being in Jeans at the door for many would just be an experience in itself!
The next time a witness came by , the housleholder would ask if somethign changed!...and the response would be ...huh?
they wore what.........?

I cryed today...

B. Child Abuse
Many states have child abuse reporting laws. When elders receive reports of physical or sexual abuse of a child, they should contact the Society's Legal Department immediately. Victims of such abuse need to be protected from further danger.-See "If the Worst Should Happen," AYl.Qk..e.1- January 22, 1985, page 8.
C. Search Warrants and Subpoenas
1. A search warrant is a court order authorizing the police to search premises to locate evidence that may be used in a criminal prosecution. No elder should ever consent to the search of a Kingdom Hall or any other place where confidential records are stored. How- ever, armed with a search warrant the police do not need consent and may even use force to accomplish their task. Likely before obtaining a search warrant, the police or other governmental officials will
make inquiries regarding confidential records, make request to obtain the records, or indicate that they will seek a search warrant if the elder(s) involved does not cooperate. In any such situation, the Society's Legal Department should be called immediately.
At any time an elder is confronted with a search warrant (whether given advance notice or not) , the elder should first ask to read the warrant. After reading it he should ask if he can call for legal guidance and then call the Society's Legal Department. If for some reason the Legal Department cannot be contacted, the elders involved should make every effort to obtain the assistance of a local attorney for the purpose of protecting the confidentiality of the records. It may be impossible to stop determined officers from conducting the search authorized by the warrant. Conscientious elders will want to do all they reasonably and peaceably can to preserve the confidentiality of the congregation in harmony with the principle set out in Acts 5:29.
2. Subpoenas are demands for records or for the appearance or for the appearance of an individual at a trial or deposition to give testimony. Subpoenas may be issued by a court or in some cases by a governmental agency or an attorney. If an elder receives a subpoena, he should contact the Society's Legal Department immediately. Never turn over records, notes, documents, or reveal any confidential matter sought by subpoena without receiving direction from the Legal Department
.
This must be that HIgh moral standard!
D. Crimes and Criminal Investigations
In some cases the elders will form judicial committees to handle alleged wrongdoing that also could constitute a violation of Caesar's criminal laws (e.g., theft, assault, etc.). Generally, a secular investigation into a matter that is a concern to the congregation should not delay conducting a judicial hearing. To avoid entanglement with the secular authorities who may be investigating the same matter, the strictest confidentiality (even of the fact that there is a committee) must be maintained.TO ALL BODIES OF ELDERS July I, 1989 Page 4
If the alleged wrongdoer confesses to the sin (crime), no one
else should be present besides the members of the committee. When evidence supports the accusation but genuine repentance is not displayed resulting in a decision to disfellowship, this should be handled in the normal course regarding advice of appeal rights and announcements to the congregation. In cases of serious criminal wrongdoing (e.g., murder, rape, etc.), or where the criminal conduct is widely known in the community, the body of elders should contact the Society before proceeding with the judicial committee process.Contact the society ......not the local authorites?

ridiculous laws the faithful attenders are........Would it not be WONDERFUL to go out an actually share with the people at the door the beliefs of JWS......... nothing can be done to you... you are using all material printed by them........ all their false prophecies ...all of their ridiculous stances on dealing with children.......
your message may be to tell the householder you ar just taking an interest inthe community and informing them of bleiefs current and past....
If they are allowed to go out so are you.. you can go casual , if you like .....
I would suggest not meeting at the kingdom hall prior to going 8&>

was there any one at the Memorial washing any feet...I think not....
Who then are to CELEBRATE, and who is to observe.

Where do they sit in your hall?
by ns7 inwhat i find bemusing is, if there are any disfellowshipped ones in your hall they have to sit at the back.
now without getting into the merits/rights/wrongs of whether this should be still acceptable, where do they sit in your hall?
you see i seem to remember that they would sit on the back row, come in quietly just after the song and prayer and leave at the end just as quick.

Does any one have any information on D/F or D/A people
NOT abiding by the "RULES" and ignoring the SHUNNING ASPECT of the reproof...... IE talking to people, Attempting to comment at meetings, Responding to the announcment that has YOUR name in it(the DF or D/A one).As if to say , Well I dont agree with your ruling, or to tell everyone that you are getting the axe for whatever reason, after all , it will only take a few hours for them to find out why, if they dont already know.
Just wondering, I had read an experience of an elder who wanted to get his family out, so rather than jump ship , he planted seeds of doubt along the way, let them develop THAT DIRTY INDEPENDENT THINKING, introduced other publications for reference to study and let their own conclusions be drawn.
ALL of his children MADE IT OUT SAFE and with out incident.
Just interesting to me with the FREEDOM of religion , protected by the consitution, D/F and D/A ones GIVE AWAY far too much of themselves, and their civil liberties are violated in many cases.
I know the freedom aspect is suppose to be , protection from the government.
Guess the question is....... do your RIGHTS change since you are not in GOOD STANDING.....and should they.

it's been years for me and i actually have never come to a board like this until recently.
i'm just curious, how is everybody doing in that regard?

Gopher,
i fully agree with the helping hand after all its part of the command to love your neighbor......just that you should do the rest of the command as yourself.when you can hear all the stories of woe of the past and it no longer raises your bloodpressure...your there... its a commitment you make to your self to deal with things in a loving compassionate manor rather than holding on to negativity. This can of course be shared with the new ones that need the necessary venting period....
just a thought
