  i hear some people say that if you are a republican or democrat that you must not be very educated, intelligent or monetarily stable.

  .

  do you think it’s proper to paint any person as less than favorable because of their political opinions?

  If He's saying that unintelligent people take sides and engage in combat, he's right. Who in his or her right mind wouldn't choose to avoid conflict?

  i was ministered to by several different people at a jw funeral i attended today.

  one older lady said to me, "you know the end is right around the corner, just look at the state of the world today".

  i said, "well yes but that has been the mantra for decades, remember 'stay alive till '75'".

  As I recall, "the new truth" that the span of time between Adam's naming the animals and Eve's dropping the ball is unknown, the year of the arrival of Armageddon was postponed.

  Supposedly, the most credulous JWs abandoned ship at that point, but most accepted the postponement with relief because the last thing we wanted was the collapse of our world.

  i'd like to contact certain brothers and sisters i formed friendships with during the time i spent in "the truth", as we called it back then.

  i was a member of two congregations in hawaii from 1974 to 1984. .
