I'm single and sort of looking, but it isn't a major priority right now. My preference is for women, but I also like guys of a certain type.

inquiring minds want to know who out there is single.
lets see if we can hook anyone up.
how about a love connection on the jwd.

Right this minute? "How You Remind Me" by Nickelback. After that, I'll probably switch to something by Drowning Pool.

i've noticed that quite a few people on this board have said that they are now pagan.
i'm starting to wonder if converting to paganism is something that many ex-jws do?
being a pagan myself, i am actually surprised at how i could choose the religion that jws probably hate the most.
Xander,
Just out of curiosity, how do you know you've run into a pagan? I mean, we don't exactly LOOK any different than, say, a Christian. Obviously, we don't were crosses, but most Christians don't, either.
It's just coincidence, really; I'll meet someone I like and nine times out of ten, it comes out later that we're both Pagans. *g* It's like I'm a magnet for them or something, or maybe I just go to all the right places.

i just finished watching the dateline piece, and i'm sitting here with tears in my eyes.
tears of joy that the truth has come out; tears of sorrow for the children who have suffered; tears of pride at bill bowen's efforts and how they came into fruition tonight.
but most of all, i'm happy because i know in my heart that, were i still an active jw, that segment would have sickened me enough to make me quit.

But most of all, I'm happy because I know in my heart that, were I still an active JW, that segment would have sickened me enough to make me quit. There's no doubt about it at all; it WOULD have made me quit.
I know there must be other JWs whose sense of duty is outweighed by their sense of justice and their revulsion for anyone who would dare to harm an innocent child. These people, I think, would be doubly sickened to find out that their beloved Organization -- "Jehovah's" organization -- has been protecting monsters just to save its own reputation, much like a beast that eats its own young to ensure its personal survival.
At least a few JWs WILL be leaving over this. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But the idea will nag at them until they can't take it any more. Still others who were considering joining will back out now before it's too late.
I'm just a little elated right now, knowing that lives will be changed and saved. My thanks to everyone who had the guts to come forward.
Much love,
*Rochelle.

Sirona,
The way things are to WHOM? We all experience things differently and see life differently. Reality is different from person to person. So I expect you might mean "the way things are" for you?
Just had to put in that you are SO damn cool. You've pretty much said everything I would've said myself, and the more I see of "my people" , the more convinced I am that Pagans are born, not made. It's not about looking for a religion: it's finding a name for what you believe.
Just out of curiosity, do you end up making accidental connections with other Pagans semi-frequently, too, in places where you're not looking for them or expecting to find them? Maybe it's just my experience, but it seems like we tend to be drawn to each other.

dateline is just 24 hours (give or take) away.
i really do expect to see a great deal of online activity as people search for more information.
jwd is likely going to be one of the most visited due to the large amount of information posted here on the subject, much by silentlambs themselves.. i also expect to see people visiting randy's excellent site as well as watchtower observer for copies of documentation, news articles, etc.
But I think there is just so much hate and "anti-WT" in this whole issue that it won't have a significant direct impact on JWs. They'll feel it when they go to the doors.
I agree, and it doesn't matter much to me if this piece changes any JW minds or not. They're not the ones I'm most worried about.
I hope the Dateline airing saves at least one person from screwing up their lives and/or their families' lives by joining the Borg in the first place. If that one thing can happen, it's good enough for me.

one of the characteristics of a cult is deceptive recruting practices.
i would like to ask some specific questions about the accuracy of information that i have gathered thus far.. 1) how much do the jws stress on the usage of theocratic warfare.
in the field service?
They definitely do lie by omission, and one big lie that I was given comes to mind. They told me that I could leave the religion any time I wanted, of my own free will. What they DIDN'T tell me was that if I did, I'd be labeled as an apostate, shunned, and basically regarded as the spawn of Satan. I didn't find that out until after I was baptized.

he said it not right for me to drop out when there is battle to be fought.
so i no longer offended.
Speaking of cognitive dissonance....

Just out of curiosity, why are you really here? When I was a JW in good standing, I wouldn't have been caught DEAD in an "apostate" hang-out spot, online or off. Not with all the stuff I'd been told about bad associations and how getting involved with such people would mean giving my implicit approval of their actions. Besides, if the elders ever found out, I know I would've ended up in the back room faster than you can say "public reproof."
If you're a JW in good standing, how do you explain your being here and posting here? You can justify it to yourself, but I doubt your congergation would be quite so understanding.
*Rochelle, curious.

what if it is herbal tea?
why not squeeze your bag?
*snicker* There is something fundamentally wrong with this question.
