steve2, I think his thread was a spoof to generate a bit of excitement, probably no harm was meant! I can count twenty members who told me they thought this new format was Jehovah being considerate of people having "no time to read".

Jehovah's Witnesses dismayed by new magazine format from Watchtower Society.
by Balaamsass inwow.
i was surprised this week by calls from active jws complaining about the new magazine format, and more begging for money from the platform.. frankly i was surprized by this reaction since this is old news to jwn members.
i guess actually shuffling to the bookroom and grabbing the new "awake tracts" minus the inside cover forward ...awakened many sleepy, catatonic, bored jws who never read the things or go on the internet anyway.. any feedback from other areas?.

Ty, Cedars! Jesus Christ has played third-fiddle in this human run Organization. More emphasis is Jehovah, Faithful Slave, Brothers and maybe Jesus Christ? "Fourth-fiddle" I suppose!
Jesus Christ won't have a problem with glory to the praise of his Father Jehovah God, it's the Watchtower's attempt to rob him of his authority! Remember brothers in the Kingdom Hall callling the Watchtower "Mother"? Blasphemy!

The Apostles learned the hard way, these qualities were not what Jesus Christ was looking for, "lording it over", "who is the greatest among them?"
Ancient Isreal had problems with Jehovah God being their King, they picked a visible man they could serve. Christianity goes the same way with the Universal Church, the Watchtower is riding off the coat-tails of humanity needing a physical presense. JWs feel the need for visible "kings and priest (144,000)", not the Invisible King Lord Jesus Christ! How is a christian to grow with men who teach radical teachings that go against the very fabric of ancient Christian teachings? Is it any wonder why most JWs don't know their Bible, and rely on their "Reasoning Book" before they open the Bible?
Brother Ray Franz wrote about the "Watchtower Society's" wish to force all the followers of Jesus Christ to renouce their Christian Freedom and "comform to all the rules provided by men", nothing is further from the Holy Bible's truth revealed by our one and only leader Jesus Christ. Old Watchtower's claimed "The Faithful Slave has been with mankind since 36 CE", "Jesus never, never allowed the World to be without a faithful slave providing spiritual food (Examples Waldenses, Lollarards, Huguneots, Micheal Servetus) are qouted as possible Slaves according to the WTS. Now that's all rubish, "new light" remove's the old "Faithful Slave" replacing with younger men with questionable holy-spirit qualifications.

Paul and Apollos, Servants of Christ
1Dear brothers and sisters, a when I was with you I couldn't talk to you as I would to spiritual people. b I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in the Christian life. c 2I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren't ready for anything stronger. And you still aren't ready, 3for you are still controlled by your sinful nature. You are jealous of one another and quarrel with each other. Doesn't that prove you are controlled by your sinful nature? Aren't you living like people of the world?4When one of you says, "I am a follower of Paul," and another saysw , "I follo Apollos (The Governing Body)," aren't you acting just like people of the world?
5After all, who is Apollos? Who is Paul? We are only God's servants through whom you believed the Good News. Each of us did the work the Lord gave us. 6I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. 7It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow. 8The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. 9For we are both God's workers. And you are God's field. You are God's building.

With elders like that, who needs Pharisees!
by 00DAD ini'm sure you're all familiar with the quip, "with friends like that, who needs enemies!
a recent thread got me thinking about how this easily applies to the organization in general and to many of the elders in particular.
now i know, there are some few good elders out there (god knows i tried to be one).

Pharisees are common in Kingdom Halls, once you take off your blinders they are easy to spot. All those excuses you made for the bad behaviour because you were too humble to point the fingers at them.
Circuit Overseers and District Overseers fall into this catagory frequently, they are the well greased machines out Bethel's Garage.

JW-Gone-Bad: what you are asking cannot be done, the Organization will implode.
The push for "more preaching, more Bible-studies, more Meeting Attendance" is not going to be replaced by a Christian teaching of "Compassion, Empathy, Charity, Love, Forgiving People, Joyfulness", it's not going to happen in this time! Too much work to do, like the Mad-Hatter "I'am Late! I'am Late, "I'am Late to Field Service, Meetings :)
Christian qualities don't mix well with the Watchower's "work's based economy", running off the dark-engery of anxiety, depression, fear of men, fear of the End, guilt of not doing enough".

Yes, if the Society could eliminate these problems caused from the "Hall of Justice", maybe we could stop losing many JWs out the revolving door.
"
So if you are in good standing but are shunned because your congregation is infected with cliques....
If a "brother" cheats you out of your pay, your property............
If an elder and/or his wife spread terrible lies and the other cowardly elders do nothing.....
Adversities that come from those you are told love you and are trustworthy........." Blondie's comments

"Rumors spread", that happens with everyone who leaves the Watchtower Society, everyone here (my congo-region) believed Ray Franz had gone insane with a final attempt at seizing the power of President. The members of the Organization are good at slandering good Christian apologist, because they can't refute the material.
I was defending a brother online who left the Organization, lies from his accusers on a "Pro-JW Private Forum" "he left the Org because of financial problems, family matriarch died, deep depression, anger, pride, jealous" (notice how they could not attack doctrine, only ad-hominen assualts) , I asked "how do you know this is true? Did you live with the person you are spreading malicious lies about?" reply "Everyone in the congregation knows this! This shows you how loving the Organization is, quick to spread lies about members who post serious questions to their "house of cards".
