so what will happen to a witness if he doesn't shun a disfellowshipped person?

can he be disfellowshipped himself?

also, how many people get df'd then get reinstated and then stop going to meetings? my SIL did this many years ago. She got DF'd but because she had nowhere to go and had a baby she asked her parents if she could live with them. They agreed as long as she went to meetings again, when she got reinstated and married to her baby daddy she moved out of her parents house and stopped attending the meetings or field service. she talks the talk though. I asked my MIL, her mother, if she shunned her daughter when she was df'd, she told me she did and if she hadn't she would not have "returned to jehovah" I think its because she was desperate for a place to live, and that she wanted to talk to her family again. Amazing

There is always exceptions to the rules though. Especially if you are a large donater then you get alot more leway than the lowly poor ones. A elderly couple in the hall I am forced to attend are allowed with elder approval to talk to the DF'd daughter. She even comes and stays with them when she comes to town on business.

I really liked this movie.After watching it I looked up these people and found out that 1 of the married couples, the dark haired girl and dark haired guy, lives in the next town over, I drive by their house on a daily basis. interesting.

after today's watchtower study which was basically a mind controlling article about shunning your loved disfellowshipped ones, i've come to see just how sick, twisted, vile, rotten, repulsive, disgusting, and just plain evil you all are.

so i stormed out.

I really enjoyed in the first 2 opening paragraphs how it talks about Joshua and Cain, explaining how Joshua chose god over pagan gods and cain chose the wrong path by killing his brother...

Are they really trying to compare a murderer and a pagan with too much entertainment, education, career, and shunning? If you do any of these things, you might as well be a criminal like cain was.

bullshit. This week's article was pure bullshit. They mention how jehovah always provides for those that put his will first. Actually, its the government that provides. When they say the government provides is because of a provision for them through jehovah, Im gonna ask," does that mean mom's on meth and heroin are getting provisions from jehovah too, since they also are collecting the same benefits you are?"

I haven't read any of the other posts. Sorry if this is already mentioned.

I feel that the line the seperates normal and not is this, does is affect someone else negetively? Gay's and Lesbian's have mutual relationships with others in their orientation. Therefore, they are not directly harming another. It may hurt their family or friends that they haven't conformed to what the "old society" deems as normal. But this is a different hurt. The hurt that molesters and firestarts cause go so much deeper and have severe consequences. The molested child will most likely end up with some sort of deep emotional problems which can lead to severe depression or suicide. Firestarts can take lives. Tell me, what do gays do that will impact others futures to the point of loss of libery and life? Nothing, gays don't affect others to the degree these criminals do. Thats another point, people that do molest and start fires are criminals.

There was some parts at a district convention a few years ago talking about how when a show or a movie comes on that has homosexuals in them, whether they are gay in the show or gay in real life, we should shun that show and turn it off instead of indulging, because watching a gay guy will make us gay. I know for a fact that most JW's I know do not turn off a show or movie when there is a gay guy in there. Plus, why in the world does it matter if there are gays, do they think we will be so swayed by a lisp and a limp wrist wave?
