by matt2414 in15 one brother who was raised in a christian household wrote that for as long as he could remember, he struggled with homosexual tendencies.
he said: i always felt awkward.
it seemed that i didnt fit in anywhere.

Who cares what the watchtower says about homosexuality. They have zero credibility on this issue.
Gay people are the way they are in the same way that straight people are who they are.
Seriously, who cares? I have never understood why people get so worked up by who other adults choose to love and share intimacy with. Why do some people presume they have the right (Bella - I'm looking at you) to tell others how they should live their lives??

Two questions for you.
by AMO injonno12225 posted earlier that god was resposable for some 25 million deaths of men women children and babys in the bible.. my first question is how many innocent deaths is satan responsible for, in the bible ?..
my second question is in genisis 8 21 god said "never again shall i call down evil upon the ground on mans account".. seems to me this god is capable of great evil, by his own admission, blatantly lies, (whats this big a all about) and is sooooo hypocritical, what makes some one devote there whole life to such a god ?????..
from the outside looking in.. amo.

Neither god nor Satan exist. So, obviously, they aren't responsible for any deaths.
However, fanatical humans who think that god and Satan exist, are responsible for billions of deaths.

Very interesting. Those deep water smoker ecosystems are so alien as to be almost beyond our comprehension. Life at these abyssal depths is so different to all other life on the planet.
At the base of the food chain are bacteria who obtain their energy from the chemicals in the super heated water that is discharging from the smokers. They have evolved methods of breaking apart chemical bonds and utilising the resultant energy for growth and reproduction. This is known as chemoautotrophism. All other life (nearly all anyway) is founded on photoautotrophism. That is energy is obtained from sunlight.
It it so true that we know more about deepest regions of space than we do about what is happening beneath the ocean.
Thanks for sharing cl.

Since You Were In A Cult Do You Consider Yourself Still Dysfunctional?
by minimus inyes, i said "still"..

Yep I rank pretty highly on the disfunctional scale. No friends, no family, living alone. Suicidal thinking. And I left in 1995.

WTS: Why Some Conspiracy Theories Are Important
by metatron init may seem that some popular conspiracy theories have nothing to do with ending watchtower oppressions.
the matter is otherwise.. i would judge that most experienced posters here grow tired ( been there, done that) waiting for the watchtower to implode.
it seems as if, despite evidence of its decline, it manages to endure, however pathetically and will continue to do so, somehow.. maybe not.. besides certain legal issues (that could push it over a financial cliff), there are other matters, not in mainstream belief, that could quickly end it.

I can't see it Metatron. A lot of people have an infantile attachment to religion that proves impossible to break. Scientific facts and tangible evidence that are contrary to their beliefs are summarily dismissed.
People cling to religion for a whole range of reasons. The sense of belonging to something; cultural identity and an innate inability to grasp the wonder of the sheer meaninglessness of existence are just some.
If aliens landed their space ships tomorrow, and appeared on tv for an interview, religious people would find a way to ignore it, denigrate it, or simply incorporate it into their dogma. Religion itself would continue.

Censorship?
Maybe censure...?
Worldly associations are a big no-no. They are always harping on about the danger.

Australia formally charges former JW elder
by Honesty informer jehovah's elder on sex assault charge .
a former jehovah's witness elder who apologised to his alleged victim on facebook has been charged with two counts of indecent assault.
richard hill will appear in the heidelberg magistrate's court on march 1 over allegations that he sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl in 1981.. the victim, now 38, told fairfax media that mr hill did everything except penetrate her - ''he tried, but couldn't manage''.. she said she ''did not realise the gravity'' of what had happened until she was about 14.. at that point she told her mother, who could not act because of a jehovah's witness rule that allegations of sexual abuse would only be acted on if two elders witnessed it, she said.. much later, the victim confronted mr hill on facebook.
