If JWs are still around in a hundred years, what will they be preaching?
by True North inif the jw org makes it another hundred years, what will they be preaching then?
how will their chronology and doctrines have changed?
if there are colonies on the moon or other moons, or mars, or out among the asteroids, will they still be reporting time in the house-to-house (pod-to-pod?

> over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:
> An over 40 woman will never wake you in the middle of the night
to
> ask,
> "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think.
> If an over 40 woman doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't
sit
> around whining about it. She does something she wants to do. And it's
> usually something more interesting.
> An over 40 woman knows herself well enough to be assured in who
> she is, what she is, what she wants, and from whom.
> Few women past the age of 40 give a darn what you might think
about
> her or what she's doing.
> An over 40 woman usually has had her fill of "meaningful
relationships"
> and "commitment." The last thing she wants in her life is another
dopey,
> clingy, whiny, dependent lover.
> Over 40 women are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match
> with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of
> course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they
think
> they can get away with it.
> Over 40 women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They
> know what it's like to be unappreciated.
> An over 40 woman has the self-assurance to introduce you to her
> women friends. A younger woman with a man will often ignore even
> her best friend because she doesn't trust the guy with other women.
> A woman over 40 woman couldn't care less if you're attracted to
> her friends because she knows her friends won't betray her.
> Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your
> sins to an over 40 woman. They always know.
> An over 40 woman looks good wearing bright red lipstick. This
> is not true of younger women.
> Over 40 women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right
> off, you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to
> wonder where you stand with her.
> Yes, we praise over 40 women for a multitude of reasons.
> Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart,

"Where God Enters" 14th century Mystic,, Meister Eckhart
by frankiespeakin ini went to the library and pick up this book which is a translation of some of meister eckhart's sermons.
creatures cannot enter the soul, nor can the soul know anything about a creature whose image she has not willingly taken into herself.
now god needs no image and has no image: without image, likeness, or means does god work in the soul, in her ground wherein no image ever entered other than himself with his own essence.

Hi, Frankie! I've read a little tiny bit about Meister Eickert..........usually just quotes from other people.........liked what I heard.................
JT, that was a very "understandable" post about mysticism! LOL! I've been struggling with it "intellectually" and I guess that's been my problem.........I lean strongly towards these concepts myself, because they make sense........I especially liked this comment of yours:
This has been the united message of the mystics throughout time no matter the diversity of their backgrounds and religions, or lack of religion. (It seems wise to stand up and take notice when such a unification emerges out of our vast differences).
I think that they agree because it is spirituality, not religion that is the uniting belief......... -

My life ... and how JWD came to be - Part 1
by Simon ina few people have asked how jwd came about and what my own story is and while i've posted it in bits and bobs, i've never tried to tell it as a story so here goes .... living in suburbia.
i was born a jw to jw parents who had recently been missionaries / pioneers in ireland and taken literature into countries like spain when it was banned but who were now living in suburbia near to where they had both been brought up.
we lived in a new semi-detached house in a cul-de-sac at the bottom of a hill - fantastic for building go-carts and racing down !

Nope..............I have the dubious distinction for having been named after a 50's comic strip:
Terry and the Pirates..........only, my name is spelled with an "i" on the end.........cuz I'm a female!
However, my sister's children, all good little dubs, were named Paul Alexander.........he's a junior, but, I was the one who pushed for the name Alexander cuz I love Alexander the Great, then child number two is David Benjamin, and the third young man is Joshua Michael.
