my mother told me that her bookstudy overseer asked his group this question---"why do you think a mature brother in the truth would just suddenly leave and stop coming to meetings?
any ideas?
" the group gave different opinions and finally he gave what he thought could be the reasons.
This is just me........but, I have never had the patience or nerves to let things drag on......I went to the hall when cordially invited because I wanted closure and quickly........don't waste my time and I won't waste yours. However, now, I would have just told them on the phone to get it over with, I had no interest in staying in anymore, I was too busy trying to start a new life.
Terri, of the cut and dried class
i have collected sayings, homilies, whatever along the way that crystallize something bigger i learned.
i will post a few every day.
if you have one, please share it.. if you lie down with dogs, you'll get up with fleas.. to belittle is to be little.. somewhere, i got the idea if i just took care of others, i would be taken care of.. blondie
"See what will happen if you don't stop biting your fingernails?"
Will Rogers, to his niece on seeing the Venus de Milo
"There are three kinds of men
The ones that learn by reading.
The few who learn by observation.
The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence."

i think some might get the impression that it's not right to express anything critical of this board.
some may feel that if a poster wants to express an opinion that is not in syc with the majority, they should not speak of it.if someone feels they have a valid criticism, i do think it is "healthy" to be able to express that opinion.
i am not referring to persons that seem to always complain about everything but i'm thinking of our not stifling a person.
LOL, Min, you may have just said something you'll later regret.............only kidding..........I've worked very very hard on becoming tactful in my remarks..........I remember a very dear dub friend once told me years ago that I had the sensitivity of an elephant in heat! Great analogy! She was right, I wasn't a very happy camper at that point in my life, depressed and miserable all the time, and socially backwards to boot, and I was taking it out on those least deserving..........funny thing, the sister I was insensitive towards later became one of my closest companions..........she's a sweetheart and I've talked to her a few times since I left.................I truly love her, she's got the heart of an angel.....just wish she'd wise up and get out of that crazy organization.........she's wasted there!
Terri
M68, I don't know for sure, but I do know that it is the most intensely beautifully colored object I've yet seen.........except maybe those beautiful Indigo Buntings I saw one time in upstate New York.........I just get such a "lift" looking at the colors, that, I thought I'd share it, since so many of us are feeling drabbed out from winter..................color therapy, sort of!
Terri
hello, all you fellow "apostates"!
i'm wondering if there is anyone in ct, around the middletown/new britain area on this board.................................... .
hollah back!.
NS, I am very familiar with the West Hartford Congregation.....don't know the Fragas but I lived next door to an older couple who were members of that congregation for years..........also, their daughter and son-in-law were missionaries in Africa for a few years til they got brain malaria and other parasitic infestations and almost died........all because they felt obligated to stay in their assignment......anyways........nope don't know the Thompson guy..............

i have to report that i enjoyed the christmas pageant very much last evening.. told hubby i was attending an event from work and off i went; returned home around 9:30 p.m.. i'm telling you all, one thing is read about jesus christ's life, death, and resurrection in the bible, and a much more different experience is to see in enacted.
it was so vivid i almost cried a couple of times, because it touched me so.
the customs, the music, the sound, the stage, all those animals parading around, even a couple of camels!
What did you expect from a bunch of seasoned, well grounded, heathen apostate bastards?
Gumby, LOL! Amen and Awomen to that!!!! DY, I'm sooooo happy that you proved it to yourself!
Terri
You are absolutely right, Blondie, it is from webshots, and it's my favorite flower!!!! I think it's some kind of water lily or something...............not sure................Glad you like it!
Terri
this is part essay, part whinge.
a whinge is a british expression for a bitchfest.. i am in pain, a great deal of psychic turmoil.
partly, i think, it is due to the weather; the gloom of a pittsburgh winter is nothing to sneeze at (although, achoo, the flu is going around).
JT, that was such a beautiful flower you shared with us, I wanted to get my favorite and share it............
