there was a sister at our cong that got her lips and her eyebrows tattood.
she announced it to eveyone in the cong, so it was no big secret.
Speaking of tatooing.............I just got a very sacriligious idea for a tatoo................tatoo of the ten commandments..........one slab on your right buttocks, one slab on your left.........with the crack going down between the two of them..........signifying you don't give a shit and will do anything you damn well please! And, no, I am not under the influence of any mind altering substances, I'm sitting at my desk at work!

i just went to get a coffee at the little coffee shop up the street from where i work.............. "leaves and pages" which also is a wonderful snuggly little book shop!
it is one of my most favorite stores because i am a bookaholic!
Granny, you have wisdom that I will never have! I was just born with an overactive imagination and curiosity! I love to read, because my mom always read to me, and I love art......I used to draw alot when I was a kid, but, now, I channel it in all different directions! My boyfriend is an artistic soul too, in fact he works in impressionistic style..........and did two quick sketches with pastel of two of the fruits of the spirit............he's a Christian, I'm a Pagan................he drew faith as a man down on his hands and knees, but not completely beaten............love is the other one............he drew a mother tenderly holding her babe to her breast................so, when I see these books, I buy them as much for myself as for him.................

Basically counselling does not give you the answers but helps an individual explore the answers that they already have in their possesion but just don't realise it. Its an independent, non-judgemental ear for the person to bounce their thoughts, ideas and explore their own answers.
That is about the best description I have ever heard regarding counseling..........for many years, I went, expecting to be told this is what you do, this is what you do not do.........and it really is all about learning that each of us is an individual and our answers are very personal and individual to each of us, and that is absolutely okay! I think the reason that we go in expecting to be told what to do and how to do it, is because that is how we've all been taught, from the moment we come out of our mom's womb.........it's no, don't touch this or that, or hold the spoon this way..........then when we head to school, we receive mass indoctrination into how to think, how to feel............that's why, even tho I work for the Board of Education, I think it's time that we stopped teaching our kids by rote, and started letting them express themselves creatively and use their own thinking abilities..........what do you think?

what are your first memories?
i started to write a post about this the other day but it turned into a bio, so i deleted it.. my first memory is my mom carrying me into a house and putting me on the floor with another boy, and talking to some guy behind me while i watched the other kid playing with a board game.
it turned out that the other kid was my older brother, the man was my real father who i never met, and because of the time frame of events i was well under a year old when this happened.. i also remember being rocked to sleep as a baby by my mom, and trying to tell her i wasn't tired but not being able to.. do you have early memories?
I have tons of memories from very early..................the earliest is about 1 year old............mom also said that I knew how to speak fluent canuk french at two with the neighbor kids..........she was stunned one day to see me babbling away to them and we all understood each other............the kid's mom confirmed I was indeed speaking french to her children..............I have memories of sitting on my mom's lap and she was showing me pictures from this salmon colored book............horrible pictures of a big bull headed figure, and a baby lifted up towards it............pictures of people with fear on their faces, building falling and a great chasm with cars sliding into it..............Armaggedon, ala the WTS from the Paradise Book. Years later, I asked mom about it and she said that she had always spoken with the Dubs and taken their literature back in the 50''s. She didn't get baptized til around 1977, tho, shortly after my sis and I got dunked..............

It is one of my most favorite stores because I am a bookaholic! When I walk in, I go into a manic behavior of eyes darting every which way to check out what new goodies they've obtained since my last visit..............along with the fact that they are having a mid-winter sale.......30-50% off most of the books in stock............as I'm grabbing my coffee cup and lid, I spy a new book.............."Crossing Over: where art and science meet"..............now, I'm stopped dead in my tracks............not only is the cover art scrumptious, but the title has absolutely caught my attention! Maybe you fellow bookaphiles and closet mad scientists can understand my curiosity..........the authors: Stephen Jay Gould and Rosamond Wolff Purcell...............most of us x-dubs recognize Steve's name from the "Creation" book and other articles refuting evolution that the society has written..........so, of course, my curiosity was piqued by that too.....................anyhoo, I grabbed the book with trembling hands and went to the counter.........now, the price inside this book, which appears to be brand new, is $27.50 US/$39.95 Canada..........but, they have marked it as $13.25............and with the 30% discount, I am out the door with this treasure in my possession for the grand total of $9.28!!! Anyone curious as to what it's about, as I begin to read it, let me know in a pm! Some of the more interesting thoughts, I'll post here!

years ago my husband and i were publicly reproved.
we had gone out with some "worldly friends" from work and went dancing and had a few drinks too many.
well someone must have been around to see us and told the elders.
Just publicly disfellowshipped and could have cared less. I was not there, because I was already full speed ahead towards my new life!
if a magic wand was waved, and everyone who has da?d df?d fallen away or whatever was allowed to go back into a kh with no questions asked, no announcement of reinstatement ?
just welcomed back, what could/would you still (want to or otherwise) do and what would you not.

Still, nothing they have in the KH is of the least interest to me.........as far as what they teach. I would love to have some of them as friends, again, and of course, be able to talk with my family, but, I have NO wish to go back and become their mindless drone ever again.............
