  I'll never forget when Ernest Funk, a member of the Canadian branch committee who looks like he's 100 years old, basically yelled into his mike at a district convention that Facebook is evil and how "we are warning you about it". He literally yelled out loud a warning about using Facebook to 2000+ attendees. This was in 2009 I think.
  

  Elders, special pioneers, and bethelites now use it anyway. I've found an old CO on it as well.

  a pic from the bible teach book was posted on reddit's popular /r/wtf subreddit where people post things that make you say "what the fuck" out loud.

  this was the photo and you can read the thread's comments here.

  it was one of the most-upvoted pictures today on the subreddit.. i visit that subreddit once in awhile and laughed out loud when i saw the thread..

  Canada Bethel had a brother/sister play the piano in the auditorium for all the songs for their Monday evening Watchtower study until late 2010/2011 when after a zone visit they were told to stop using it. lots were sad when they were told this.
  

  for whatever reason, Brooklyn only wants the recordings played at all meetings, period.

  I believe they are no longer doing this. I was also told while I was at Bethel in the late 2000's that the CO arrangement would be no more and that the GB wanted local elders to serve as mini-COs within cities where they would visit nearby congregations and help them for a week, which was why there were so many elder schools being held at that time so that they could receive the training for this in the United States. However, I never thought they would get rid of DOs, and with the removal of the DO arrangement I am pretty sure you'll never see the COs go away now as they are now the only HQ representative the congregations will see (other than Bethel speakers at one assembly a year or at a regional convention). It seems like once Jaracz & Barr died everything went 180 degrees in the opposite direction.

  it seems that select videos on jw.org now offer a comment section for any registered user, (previously, logins were only used by elders, servants and those who wanted to donate by credit card).

  however, your login info now has to contain your real full name and be approved by your congregations service committee..

  What videos allow comments? I couldn't find any. Also are they public comments, meaning anyone can see them if they visit the site? It makes no sense for them to allow comments, they'll just be "wow" or "good video praise jah", which doesn't really apply to non-JWs.

  Take subway to work? Count your time!

  i was sitting next to a sister this evening who during the whole ride she had one of those plastic folders that holds the mags and pamphlets, she had both spanish and english and was holding the folder out in front of her until she got off the train.

  i asked her if she was counting her time, she said yes (of course she asked how do i know about that).

  she said it's not easy talking to the people in the station (seemed like she meant standing with the trolley or just the mags) because sometimes people say things that aren't nice, so she counts her time on her daily commute.

  i tell my parents to start their time early by putting a watchtower or awake mag in front of the window. do it as soon as you wake up, and by the time you're ready to go to the group you've already got at least 1 or 1.5 hours. truly jehovah's chariot is on the move!!
