The new RBC
by drawcad_1 inthe new rbc now called the ldc.

There was a new hall that was to be built in my city. The property was bought by the RBC (there was a bulding on the property that was going to be renovated), they were gutting the place, then a few months later the LDC is introduced. Everybody who was working on that property was subsequently taken off it. Nobody I talked to that was involved with it has any idea what is going on with it anymore because of the LDC taking care of it, and as far as I know nothing has been done for like a year now. It's very strange. -

Canadian branch getting rid of their trucks and drivers
by wannaexit ina recent letter to the elders outlined the new arrangement for delivering literature to the congregations.
the canadian branch will be downsizing by eliminating drivers and trucks and utilizing commercial carriers to bring the boxes of monthly literature .
more outsourcing and more lay offs.. the funny thing about it is that they want to have the literature delivered to various private homes of the rank and file rather than have the literature delivered to the kingdom hall.

Seeing the truck was a highlight as a kid, to be honest. They always had to make sure the truck was shiny after every delivery. I knew one of the drivers. I think they had two trucks and I was told the route they follow but it's been so long I've forgotten it. They go all across Canada so the driver is gone for like 2 weeks I think, but they simplified this in the last three or four years to just "distribution points" rather than multiple Kindgom Halls as it was before. Anyway that eliminates at least four people from the Bethel.
I can't think of anything else they'll cutback on at Canada Bethel.
EDIT
I just remembered, Canada used their own trucks while the USA has been using delivery services for quite awhile now because the Canada branch found it was cheaper for us to deliver the literature ourselves using our own trucks than outsourcing to Canada Post/UPS. So this really doesn't add up anymore because as Beth Sarim posted above they'll be spending more now to have a private firm do it. It's strange.

p. 54 was when Angus began his awesome all-out assault on Jackson.
p. 54:
Q. Mr Jackson, you were baptised at age 13, am I right?
A. I certainly was, yes.
Q. And in fact many Jehovah's Witnesses are baptised at an age even younger than that?A. There have been some I have met that have been baptised younger.
Q. Do you consider that at that age someone is old enough and mature enough to make a decision affecting the rest of their lives?
A. Yes, I do in some cases. Obviously there are some children that wouldn't be able to make that decision, and
perhaps some question whether I could make that decision at 13 years of age, but I work with people that have been baptised when they were 11 and they have stuck by that determination their whole life.
Q. That may be because they can't leave the organisation without leaving behind everyone whom they know.A. Anything is possible.
Q. You see, let's take someone who is baptised at a young age and then, as a young adult, decides that actually their beliefs lie elsewhere and they want to choose some other system of belief. They then are still going to be faced with the stark choice that we have identified, aren't they?
A. No, we don't see it that way, but you are entitled to your opinion.
Q. I suggest also that it is in conflict with the idea of a loving and a compassionate God.A. Certainly that wouldn't be in harmony with what the Bible says, because at times Jehovah disciplined his people by having them go into exile and come back. So Jehovah is someone who believes in the ultimate overall benefit of good for persons, and sometimes that includes some form of discipline.
Q. Do you accept that putting people to that choice makes your organisation in many respects a captive organisation?A. I do not accept that at all.
and p. 57:
Q: Would you disagree, then, with anyone who said that the efforts to highlight and deal with child sexual abuse in the Jehovah's Witness church are engaging in apostate lies?
A: I guess that's a broad question, because sometimes those who make these accusations make many other accusations as well. But let me assure you, the person making the accusation is not the main thing. The main thing is: is there some basis to the accusation. And if there is some way that we could improve, the Governing Body is always interested in seeing how we can refine our policies.

I think the "26" members mentioned is actually the GB and their helpers which is like the main administration group at brooklyn, but there's 30+ ppl combined if that's them (includes Don Adams). http://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/w20151015/helpers-governing-body-committees/
holy shit they're grilling terrence o'brien over geoffrey jackson's role in the organization, this is tense!! the royal committee was told he only does translation but Steward is telling o'nrien they've been told the governing body decides everything and is grilling him on what his role is.

@Anonymous1, the link you posted had this at the end which I'm sure most would find interesting:
"As Mr Jackson's role in the church was translation it was unlikely he could help anyway, Mr Tokley [Watch Tower laywer] said."
That's the governing body at work. "I'm just a translator, even though 8 million believe me to be one of the leaders of the organization on earth and I help make the rules."

Full transcript:
"The Governing Body has also asked me address another topic that I must say hits me close to my heart, being a father who raised two boys. The subject is the abuse of children, and the damaging effects this can have on such innocent victims. As an organization, we view all such abuse of children, whether physical, sexual, or emotional, as deplorable.
As you likely know, Jehovah's Witnesses take a stronger position than most on the scriptural inappropriateness of any form of immorality. However, to take advantage of innocent young ones is absolutely despicable. As a religious organization, we have taken a decisive stand against such behavior. It is our fervent desire to protect children from any kind of abuse. Our policy as an organization is that one professing to be a victim (or his parents) should never be discouraged from reporting the incident to the appropriate authorities. While child abuse as been perpetrated earth wide in many cultures for thousands of years, it is only in the past 40 years or so that the magnitude and extent of the problem has become better known. This is because governmental agencies are now determined to take a more active interest in these problems. Laws were enacted requiring medical and other professionals to report cases to authorities when they became aware of them. Prior to that time, many governmental, educational, and religious organizations were somewhat naive about the magnitude and the complexity of the situation. Others knew of the problem and covered it up. What is our position, then, as an organization?
When what was termed as the "new morality" became popular over 50 years ago, which included sexual relations among young ones, we condemned such behavior based on the Bible's unerring and timeless principles. As the awareness of child abuse became more and more known, we published a landmark Awake! magazine over 30 years ago. It was the issue of June 22, 1982. There are five article titles that nail the subject in a very straightforward manner. The first article was entitled "The New Morality". Then, "Chickens and Hawks" was the second article. It warned about homosexual men who prey on and advocate the right to use boys for sex. Shame on them. The next article, "Baby Pros and Kiddy Porn", condemned prostitute rings that employed small girls in an array of abuse. Then "Rape at Home"... No further explanation needed on that. Then finally the article "To End Child Abuse". I remember this magazine well since I had two boys who were in elementary school at the time. And again remember that the world in general was somewhat naive about the magnitude of this issue and the gravity of the problem. I read the five articles, then I looked at my two boys, and I said a prayer to Jehovah, thanking him for moving the organization to be so proactive in trying to help parents to protect their young ones from the plague of the "new morality" and the abuse of children. This issue has been straightforwardly addressed in print many time since then.
I'd now like you to view a PSA. What is a PSA? It stands for "public service announcement." It is a message of public interest which is aired by the media without charge. The objective is to raise awareness about changing public attitudes and behavior towards the social issue. Television stations are not obligated to play all such 30 to 60 second messages provided. However, if the topic and production values captures their attention, they can choose to air the PSA for the benefit of the viewing audience. In the late 1990's, the Governing Body approved four PSAs on the subject of family life. I'd like to show you one of these that was produced back in 2002. It was picked up and aired by some of the largest TV networks in the United States. Why? Because they realized this type of warning was important for their viewing audience to see. It is true, the type of computer equipment shown in the video dates it. However, the message is just a pertinent now as then, and maybe even more so. Please watch.
[shows video]
While we cannot control everything that an individual might say, it is clear that over the decades protecting children from abuse is a top priority for this organization. We are proud of our reputation in this regard and we look forward to the time in God's new world when no one, young or old, will ever again be a victim of abuse. Since the latter part of our discussion has addressed what Jehovah's organization has done to protect children from predators, it gives me great pleasure to release at this time another animated video in the series "Become Jehovah's Friend." It is entitled "Protect Your Children."[shows video]
We’re happy to see how Jehovah’s organization continues to teach our young ones how to make wise choices when the figurative monsters of this world try to lure them into their traps. You parents should be commended for your tireless efforts to protect your children."
