The "Peddling & Solicitation Law" recently went into effect in our area.

A woman was brutally murdered by an 18-year-old who was selling magazine subscriptions door-to-door. (One of those groups that get dropped off by the vanful and don't eat if they don't sell x-amount of subscriptions) He was broke and hungry, and saw the chance to kill her and take a few things to hawk-for money to eat.

The Police Department has a website, and when I got this same link concerning the Supreme Court business, I emailed the "contact us" section on the PD site with some pertinent facts:

I am very much in favor of it, and wish it were implemented EVERYWHERE. This link was sent to me, and I have to say I wasn't surprised. I figured it would only be a matter of time this happened.

I wanted you to be aware that this may very well present a problem here as well, and wanted you to possibly begin to lay down any "groundwork" so as to be prepared with whatever legalities you'd need to fight this group.

I have been researching this cult for two years, and I'm constantly amazed at the mind-control that I've uncovered by the leaders of the Watchtower Society, and how both the history and the ongoing deceit are completely hidden from the "regular" members who are forbidden to speak with ex-members or to read ANYTHING derogatory about their religion.

Most likely you are aware that they don't salute the flag or display one, won't say the pledge of allegiance, and don't vote, won't donate to ANY fundraisers, food pantries, soup kitchens, etc, thereby giving NOTHING back to the "system", but will kick up a fuss when they feel that THEIR Civil Rights are being impinged upon in any way.

I truly wish there were some way to stop these folks from going door-to-door at all, but the very government they sneer at in this country, also grants them the freedom to spread their insidious message of destruction to the governments, and death to all those who don't "become a Jehovah's Witness"...........their publications are filled with pictures of easily recognized government buildings such as the Capitol building, for one.

Various churches are also depicted as being demolished and men, women and children are shown as fleeing in terror at the destruction. These illustrations look just like the terror we experienced on 9/11, the mindset of this "religion" is sick and twisted, to say the least.

Their "nice attire" and "sunny smiles" are only what the public sees......

Justice for the Governing Body

the recent "uncovering" of the watchtower's complicity with the united nations calls for prompt phinehas-like action to "keep jehovah's organization clean".

an investigative committee should be formed to determine "who knew and when did they know it?

" a judicial hearing should follow for those governing body members who "signed on" to this impure alliance.. the current governing body of jehovah's witnesses should resign immediately as they are no longer "examples to the flock"(1 pet.

i just talked to paul hoeffel 1:35pm - he phoned me.. okay people.

i can now confirm that the watchtower has provided a letter in writing to dpi indicating that the wts has "disassociated" themselves from dpi - ie the wts has made it offical that they have quit.. i can also confirm that the wts has been updating dpi regularily as they are suppose to over the last 10 years.. i can also can say that something is in the works that i can disclose by hopeflly tomorrow.

I realize that I'm a Newbie here, and I don't really want to make enemies or cause trouble...(taking a deep breath now) there are just SOME statements that need to be addressed.

Having said that, I am blown away by your post. Don't you find their "TIMING" a bit peculiar?? If they felt there was nothing wrong with their membership---WHY resign at all? No, I don't think (as you put it) it's wrong for them to be a member and then NOT be a member.......but you've GOT to admit it smells REAL fishy for them to resign RIGHT after the news came out, wouldn't you say?

I don't "want" it to be anything....well, maybe GONE would be nice, and I am POSITIVE that their "sensitivity" to others feelings had nothing to DO with their sudden departure from the UN. I WILL agree that changes WERE made "according to pressure", as you said, but the bottom line on this is the "changes" were made to try and weasel out of an embarrassing situation and to try to cover up their guilt, KNOWING what the R&F JWs would think!!!!

finding friends outside the Borg - a Scary thought

has anyone else found that the teaching of the "outside world" being a "bad association" limits your involvement and ability to make new freinds?.

if so how have you overcome this and any suggestions to helping those suffering from these feelings?.

It makes perfect sense to me! I understand completely!
I've attempted to make friends with ladies I "seem" to have things in common with, but the friendships don't last somehow.....
I NEVER had trouble making friends in my entire LIFE before I got mixed up with the "Friends" at the KH.
I really hate what they've done to me, the whole package of not being "good enough" or not"doing enough", or not "fitting in" with THEIR ideals and criteria.....it's been two years for me (gone) but over 27 years IN.
It's hard to believe the "hold" they still have over me.....

MAJOR UN/WTS/NGO NEWS - WTS IS GONE

as of 11:45 this morning (i had a telphone call this morning with the refernce department person named holly at 212-963-7234), i can tell you that the watchtower has disassociated itself from the united nations dpi!!!!!!.

the dpi is now taking them off the list.

the dpi requested the list removal to be done this morning!!!!!.

Mr. KASANDA (Zambia) said the case under discussion was not a question of harassing the journalists, but of asking them to substantiate the stories which they published in their newspaper. They had taken the President and his family as the first target of their articles, and they were very well financed. For instance, when the President was on official travel, they questioned why he took his personal assistant instead of his wife. "The President is just as human as any other person. So why not ask them to substantiate what they say?"

He said the new Public Order Act required that the police be given two weeks notice of a planned meeting. The police had no discretion as to whether or not to allow such a meeting. There were now some 30 political parties in Zambia and some regulatory process was needed in order to avoid confusion. The Act was not intended to prevent the work of a political party, but was purely regulatory.

He said freedom of expression was only limited in instances regarding: defence; public order, morality and health; or protecting the rights of other persons. In the case regarding the singing of the national anthem, a "Watchtower" follower instructed his children not to sing the anthem as their religion permitted no allegiance to earthly institutions. However, at the same time, they accepted the privileges received from the Government.

One could not have one's cake and eat it too, he said. There were cases in which religion impeded the development, health and education of children, who were prevented by their parents from attending school. I think that about sums THAT up pretty well....having their cake and eating it too....."accept the priveleges" but don't reciprocate in kind.....suck what they can from the system, but scream how evil it is, and how it will be "destroyed" as they gloat over the events that sadly enough have touched the hearts of us all..........

Hoping that this post gets through, I want to say a very special HI to Farkel, who I haven't been able to track down for SUCH a long time!
I have such a soft spot for him and "stuff" he so kindly did for me when I needed a friend. I was SO tickled to see his name recently come up on here, like finding a comfy pair of slippers in the attic, that you thought were thrown out and gone forever. (BOY he's gonna HATE that analogy:)

I've had some extremely crappy developments (ALL WBTS related) to deal with, and the pain increases all the time. I seem to have the dubious distinction of STILL being under their control, even though I D/Aed myself in Oct 99......they still dictate who I can and can't visit (family) and have caused so MANY repercussions that it sounds like a Soap Opera in the making. It would sound "made up" if I were to put it all down on paper.......

Well...here I am....my first post (blush) I hope I haven't overstepped too much by being off topic.......like Minnie Pearl used to say, "I'm just so PROUD to BE here!"
