  Good video, I have seen it a few times and showed it to some of my non JW family.

  I believe that a video like this with a bit of humor can be really effective on JWs who are having doubts and researching on the Internet. Using humor is much better than being angry or bitter, which would make JWs turn it off straight away. But if they listen to a video like this and can see the funny side, a small part of them will realize that it is all true, and a few cracks in the wall begin to appear.

  I know for me, the funny and sarcastic style videos like this one helped me immensely when I was learning TTATT.

  How long has this been going on!?

  ok, i've suddenly got heaps of time for stuff, i can cuddle with my husband on weekend mornings, and i don't have to spend money on meeting clothes!

  i've got all these great clothes i hardly wear!

  we can make pancakes on saturday mornings!

  And missing the evening meeting is a devine blessing.

  It is so good now to just get home from work and settle in for the night. I forget it is even on now, I have only attended a few in about 6 months. It seems so crazy now to come home from work, get the whole family dressed in their best clothes and then sit in the hall while struggling to stay awake for two hours.

  I know the feeling. I look forward to the weekends for the first time in my life. I sleep in, play with kids, maybe get out and do something. And the best part is...... no guilt. I use to dread Saturday morning witnessing. What a waste of life being a JW is.

  Soontobe is exactly right.

  Heaps of good bands and musicians around today.

  The thing is though, popular music of the 60's and even 70's was nearly all good, and some of it will go down as the most influential and defining of all time. Hendrix and The Beatles...need we go on.

  Popular music these days is mostly crap. But there is tonnes of great bands out there, it just seems they don't get commercial success.

  Some great posts on this thread and it's interesting to read others experiences.

  It wasn't exactly the generation thing that woke me up but it did get me researching 1914/607. I always felt that the overlapping generation explanation did not make sense, since in didn't quite correspond to the generation that Jesus spoke to, who saw the destruction of Jerusalem within 40 years. I got thinking that maybe 1914 was the issue, and not the generation.

  I can understand what someone is trying to convey when they say 'this generation'. It's not complicated. But when I looked into 1914, that sh!t is crazy. It is no accident that 95% of today's JWs could not explain how to arrive at 1914. It is probably one of the only teachings of C T Russel that has endured, and it shows.

  I think Sir was spot on with his post. This generation of dubs are nothing like the old timers, and the late 90's will go down as a turning point for this crazy end times religious sect.

  that's right, and it's great!

  i don't know exactly why because he hasn't turned apostate and still seems to believe jw things.

  i don't feel comfortable in asking him why he doesn't go to meetings anymore for some reason, or find out what he believes and if the things i've told him bout ttatt influenced his decision.

  once we found out we were all witnesses, we all hugged.

  now we just had to see if our kingdom hall was still standing.

  when we came to the hall we had such a huge shock.. there were so many people there.

  I honestly couldn't read it all the way through. It was a little sad, a tad disturbing and completely crazy. Stuff like this is evidence that the JW belief system is not good for normal mental health.

  The Big Bang Theory is terrible. I have tried to watch it many times but I cannot laugh at any of it. I have never watched a minute of 2 Broke Girls but I am sure it is also a steaming pile of crap.

  What used to worry you the most about the great trib and Armageddon?

  i worried most about losing my dear family, but i also had silly worries like, what would happen to my pets?

  say i didn't have a chance to let the cats out, they would starve inside my house.

  and what if people were so starving because of the big gt famine and stole my chickens!

  I use to worry that the big A would come when my football team was having a great season.

  I use to hope that my favorite musicians would die before the big A so they could get a resurrection, then we could hang out and write songs together .

  Neil Young, Eddie Vedder and I just keepin it real in paradise. Jeff Buckley, Hendrix, Lennon and many others are dead so that would work out fine for my paradise-musical pipe dreams. Crazy I know.
