That's right, and it's great! I don't know exactly why because he hasn't turned apostate and still seems to believe Jw things. I don't feel comfortable in asking him why he doesn't go to meetings anymore for some reason, or find out what he believes and if the things I've told him bout ttatt influenced his decision. Some of it may have to do with how stressed I've gotten when elders and COs have rocked up at our house.

It started with hubby finding other things to do such as a beach walk, trip to the shops or a visit to my mother, and now he doesn't make excuses and just doesn't go, and politely deflects elders' enquiries.

This is great, and I hope it lasts!

That's good news. Witnessing sucks big time. So do meetings. With a bit of luck he will be "mentally diseased" real soon.

    Hello Julia,

This is indeed good news. The longer one is away from the meetings, the harder it is to go back. So keep each other busy and before you know it, six months will have passed and life will be a whole lot happier. You'll have to endure some people trying to find out what's going on, but ride it out and they will soon move on to other things.

Very glad to hear your news :-)

That's good news Julia, the mind-control just starts to slip away if it isn't reinforced on a weekly basis. Well done, don't question him, just chill.

Hey thanks guys. Yes, chilling is the plan. If he feels the need to pop to a meeting down the track I won't stop him out of respect. I think that's a big thing.

Also, the fact we have no family in helps because we don't risk losing them. He didn't really have anyone in the congregation he considered a friend, and although he speaks well of people and only sees the good, he doesn't seem to miss them. My father and brother have been providing him with male company and their support has helped.

    That sounds great!

    and remember that TERRY said:

    Mr T. O’BRIEN

    — People are free to be Jehovah’s Witnesses, or if at any time they wish to discontinue for

whatever reason, that is a personal choice. If the person simply decides to become inactive and no longer

associate with Jehovah’s Witnesses, then they are just viewed as they were before they became one of

    Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Just dont do anything 'apostate' and you can throw this in any snooping elders face...its a matter of public record...

O'Brien lies! But he's right about how you get viewed as before in one way: not one Jw 'friend' has associated with me from my cong. They even took our Saturday morning field service group off us without saying a word!

They use the scripture which states one who leaves 'the truth' is worse than one who never knew it. Dog returning to his own vomit. I forget which one, and I'm too busy (lazy0 to loook it up right now. lol. I will do later though. It is one to remember.

( dogs do eat their own vomit though, gross)

I think from now on it is going to be plain sailing for you J. Happy days ahead I hope.
