  JWs and pessimism

  there are people who are pessimistic, optimistic, cynical or whatever.

  i've noticed that ever since my sister became a jw she's become very pessimistic about life now (present time).

  i love and care about her but her pessimism sometimes brings me down (emotionally).

  For JWs life in "this system" is to be endured, not enjoyed. They are taught to focus on the "real life", which is coming real soon.

  Watchtower Legal Team Makes Threats

  i don't want to alarm anybody but the i have heard that the watchtower legal team has made threat to have various websites shut down for leaking important documents out to the public and to its various members of the christian congregation.

  has anyone else heard this?

  Disney and NBC need to make a profit, the Watchtower Society is supposed to be a charity.

  This is what pisses me off. All the tax this giant money making corporation does not pay because it is apparently running a charity for public benefit.

  Just found the article online. You have got to love those celebrated Watchtower scholars.

  "The Bible Students spent decades pointing out that the year 1914 would be significant."

  Sounds better than saying that The Bible Students spent decades promoting false prophecy....

  What the hell!?......

  16 The second group included in “this generation” are anointed contemporaries of the first group. They were not simply alive during the lifetime of those in the first group, but they were anointed with holy spirit during the time that those of the first group were still on earth. Thus, not every anointed person today is included in “this generation” of whom Jesus spoke. Today, those in this second group are themselves advancing in years. Yet, Jesus’ words at Matthew 24:34 give us confidence that at least some of “this generation will by no means pass away” before seeing the start of the great tribulation.

  I can't beleive these freaking desperate charlatans are having a another crack at the, "this generation is getting old now, the end must be real soon" trick. Only this time, it makes even less sense.

  The bible says this generation. The WTS says this means two overlapping generations. And if the end doesn't come in the second overlapping generations lifetime, it could well mean three generations. Awesome stuff.

  Well an Elder told me why all the new revised NWT bibles are grey/gray in color

  while in discussion with an elder from my old congregation, he asked if i had been given an opportunity to see the new bibles yet.. i told him yes that a family member had showed me one a few days back and some of the improvements (changes) that were in it.. as our conversation went along he asked me what i thought of the color.

  i said well its certainly different from the black cover i was so used to or even going back further a few decades the green covered bibles when i was a child.

  (we both got a chuckle out of that).

  Holy shit, it is like you are writing down my thoughts.

  I believed in God for a while after learning TTATT. But the more I think about things the less sense God makes.

  The nail in the coffin for me was a true crime documentary that I watched one Saturday morning.

  Two teenage girls about 17 years of age are out walking early one evening. They get picked up by a couple of drug abusing guys. They are driven out to a quiet area and are both raped at knife point. They are thrown back in the vehicle. They are driven around some more while the guys take it turns raping them. This goes on all through the night and into the morning the next day. The two men then start taking about how they can't let them go and they will have to kill them. They drive out to a creek, make the girls strip down to nothing, and have them clean themselves in the water in an effort to hide the evidence of all the rape. They tie one girl up to a tree, and one guy leaves the other to kill them both. He tries drowning the one that's not tied up to the tree in the creek, but he is having trouble managing. So he starts stabbing the girl in the side to try and kill her more quickly. The girl that is tied up can see this happening. She is next, and he when he attempts to kill her, he makes a mess of this also and ends up kicking her while she bleeds out on the ground.

  The killer was found, and admitted all this to the police. The actual interview was played on the show.

  Could you imagine the last hours of these poor innocent girls lives? It was so shocking hearing this guy admit to this, I will never forget it.

  They interviewed the family of the victims on the show. It was heartbreaking.

  But this is just the tip of the iceberg. This kind of evil has played out over and over again all over the world, day in day out, for thousands of years.

  Where is God? What the hell is he doing? He wants us to call him father???!!! FFS! What father could possibly watch his children suffer this. I could hardly watch the show, let alone see it with my own eyes. How does God watch these things? All the while knowing he could prevent it in a second.

  A few years ago in Perth Australia, a seven year old is raped and then strangled to death in a public toilet.

  I get so wound up about all this shit sometimes I can't sleep at night. Screw god and his love and his shit wisdom.
