  Sighhhhhhhh, the Draw Close to Jehovah book again for the Congregation Bible Study.

  check out this gem from the dec 2013 km which explains why it's good to over this book a second go round.. "congregations previously considered this book during 2004 and 2005. however,for many of the approximately two million publishers who have come into the truth since then,this will be the first time that jehovahs endearing qualities have been discussed in detail.for those who studied the book before, the review will help them to deepen their appreciation forjehovahs attributes.ps.119:14".

  i gotta kick out of this because i can only think of maybe two or three new ones in our congregation who weren't present when this book was first studied.

  at the same time, going over jehovah's qualities isn't something new.

  What do you expect? A new 174 page book detailing how the octopope is now the F&DS?

  It doesn't matter what meeting, convention or 'special' talk it is, it is always the same crap.

  Reheat it. Stir it. Serve it.

  Prepare for meetings??

  do you prepare for meetings?

  if i go i spend a few minutes underlinging my books/watchtower.. i have noticed that those who do the micks especially notice when your stuff is not underlined, and comments are made after the meeting, not so gentle hints, about study and preperation!

  in other words i am being told off, its usually the ones who are highly critical of everything i do, sometimes their whole family seems to be straining to see if my stuff is underlined, i know this because i heard the daughter to family wisper her watchtower is not underlined!.

  The resident window cleaning MS stumbles his way through a paragraph in a monotone.

  A strikingly obvious question is asked and then 4 different people give the same damn answer in slightly different terms, which is then followed by the study conductor repeating the already much repeated answers to make sure we all get the point.

  They want everyone to prepare for this? Bash me over the head with something, that would be the perfect preparation.

  to all our english folk out their buy your kids a cricket bat for christmas.. the aussies have declared on their second innings with 504 runs ahead the last over giving the aussies 28 runs.. alister cook was out for a duck on the first ball of the english innings bowled dby brian harris.. i think we might have the ashes back sometime tomorrow anyway england enjoy your christmas..

  How good was that today. Bailey hitting 28 runs in one over off Jimmy Anderson. That first ball from Ryan Harris that bowled Cook was an absolute Jaffa.

  for example, some skeptics deride the bible by spelling it "buy-bull".

  same or simliar pronounciation but entirely different meaning.

  i suppose part of the fascination i have with this board is, the exotic nature of those making up the member population.

  i say exotic because, as you yourselves will agree with, folks such as yourselves don't hang around the christian congregation for long upon making the decision that truth is not for you.

  (rom 1:25) this "fading" thing spoken of here likely plays a role into why christians such as me find the average ex-jw to be a bit fascinating.

  "Modified truths" is good, but here are some of my favorite expressions that the WTS has used in describing the false things they use to teach as truth....

  "past truths"

  "cherished errors"

  "formerly cherished views"

  "an expressed opinion"

  So to use another WT expression, you could say "The Truth" = "inaccurate concepts".

  What can I say, I am just not humble enough to accept "The Truth".

  Stay off this board you hypocrite.

  Learning the truth about "the truth" wasn't an enjoyable experience for me, and either is trying to fade while my family are held hostage.

  Your head is stuck up your self-righteous JW arse. If you ever successfully dislodge it, come and join us as we wallow in our freakish apostate misery.
