i've published a new article on my blog about the agony that people go through in seeking reinstatement.
part one includes a personal experience of one that crawled throught this field of glass in order to be able to regain a relationship with a close friend that is asleep in the jw movement.. part two will have a transcript (and accompanying audio on my youtube channel) from a sister that recorded her entire reinstatement hearing, including what the elders said about her after she was dismissed from the room while they deliberated.. here's a peek at the article on jwstruggle:.

I feel for JWs who have left or been df'd, but still believe that it is the 'truth'. There would be many that have their lives consumed from negative thoughts because they feel they are living a life that is disapproved by god. Df'd ones trying their best to make the right impression on a few elders so they can restore their relationship with god. Pretty sad really.
The truth certainly does set you free.

They seek to make the religon appealing to others, and in order to do that, they dishonestly represent what they actually teach to its members.
Who would have thought it would be such an effort to make the 'truth' appealing.

Yes this point was made clear at our meeting. Lots of emphasis on obedience. Jehovah molds us through his org, the slave.
We were converting the miles into kilometers in order to fully grasp the amazing attitude Jeremiah displayed in obeying the Governing Body. . . . I mean Jehovah.
I thought it was interesting that the book said we know that he did actually make the journey, without explaining how we can be sure, or without showing the full criticism that they said some have made. Now I see it is a fair point that these 'evil' critics make.
I don't know if it because I am just more aware now that I have awakend, but the gushing over the slave class seems to happen more and more. Every second comment, the opening and closing prayer. After a public talk the chairman will often (a couple of brothers ALWAYS) thank the faithfull slave for the outline.
It seems more and more cultish the further you mentally escape.
so i have been doing stand up and i want to talk about being a jw in my act.
im trying to write a few rants to talk about.
so far i have beards, holidays, the oddities of the memorial, childhood baptism vs marriage.
Just say nothing and show them the deaf mastubation video. Nothing is funnier than that.

jookbeard, I think it is actually more like 5000 hrs if you account for born ins. I might be off, but I think I remember reading this somewhere, maybe jwfacts.

One sister got disappointed in my congregation when they only offered the 30 hour aux pioneer for one month in the memorial season, although there was nothing stopping her from doing the 30 hrs, just that she wouldn't get the announcement and a clap.
A few have said it already but it is worth mentioning again. . . . . nothing stops faithfull dubs from doing 30, 40 or 50 hours on any given month of the year. . . . only they will might miss out on the status of pioneer. No one cares about status in Gods org do they?
so, my mother in law who is still active went out in service with the group that had the co visit and came back with some very interesting news.
first off, she knows that we are fading and is ok with it and has some doubts herself.
anyhow, she said that the co went off track during the meeting before service and mentioned how we are now allowed to receive up to 33% of blood in a transfusion.
Vaccinations have nothing to do with sex relations, or with intermarriage of angels with women!
