  Any successful musicians out there? I need some advise please

  i've compeleted some songs that are extremely raw/catchy/and different.

  you've probably heard it before, i'm sure as many people hear things like this before in the industry.. .

  i need some guidance.

  I am not doubting your ability, creativity or talent, but making a career out of music isn't just a matter of writing some catchy tunes. I think it takes some luck to get a break, it is almost like a lottery. There would be thousands of insanely talented musicians out there who earn a living from music, but could make much more money if they pursued different work.

  Mabe try sending some demos out to Indy radio stations and labels. In Australia we have a national radio station called Triple J unearthed where Aussie artists can upload their music. The station constantly plays unsigned bands and artists and many have become pretty successful.

  The problem is there are sooooo many bands and artists out there. Many of them phenomenally talented, and we will never even hear of them. Making good music does not guarantee anything. Much of the popular music today is fairly ordinary IMO.

  I love listening to and playing music, but would hate to try and earn a living from it. But this would never stop me from playing and writing, just that I would not get my hopes up. But in saying that I think you should pursue every avenue you can if that's what you want. I wish you well and hope you succeed. I am certainly no authority and definitely not a successful musician so take everything I say however you want.

  If I wasn't raised a dub I would no doubt be more involved with music, but I always considered it a 'worldly pursuit'.

  The fact that I look at the different response options, and can't decide, probably shows that I am still working things out. I swing from Christian belonging to no denomination/spiritual but not religious, to a sought of agnostic view. But I am still thinking about many things. I guess for now I am happy with being a mentally diseased apostate, or maybe a disciple of Jw.net or Jwfacts.

  I only ever knew the world inside the walls of the WT. Now that those walls are down, I am looking at the world very differently.

  we got a call from a jehovah witness and they were willing to help shovel our drive way.

  i find it strange how these jw's take an interest in our welfare.where as others could care less.

  so i realize not all jw's are bad.if only more of them take a geuine interest in others they would not be so bad.

  I know many JWs that are great people. Even some of the elders in the cong I am in are genuine caring people. It's just that they are all living in delusion. Sad.

  Another rumor about changes in Watchtower and Awake

  it's only a rumor.

  but we all know that sometimes rumors become a reality.. supposedly the public watchtower and awake magazines will be combined together and the two shall become one.. i wonder if the present 16 page "rags" are becoming an embarrassment.

  they truly are rags of the lowest quality..

  You know those polite calls who still allow dubs to knock on their door. Everyone had a call that would go nowhere but they always took mags.

  I know some dubs who would have about 30 of these calls. They will have the car boot loaded with mags for their 'magazine route'. The RV's go nowhere though, just lonely people who like a visit and are to polite to tell them they actually don't care for the literature, just want a visit now and then.

  If you think that the idea of the WT leaders being spirit directed/inspired or having truths revealed to them by Jehovah is just an old idea that is not really mentioned in the last few years/decades, you must have not attended meetings in a while. Either that or you are attending but not paying attention, because it comes up often.

  Even if they have not mentioned it in the last 20 years say, that really does not matter. At what point were they chosen by god to represent him as an organization, and when did they get these truths revealed? They live by this claim that they have been appointed by god, it justifies there existence. It does not matter if they have not emphasized it recently. ( they have anyway)

  At the last elders school there was a big deal made of being obedient to the slave. Jehovah requires obedience to the slave, even if it seems wrong in our minds. Jehovah can forgive the errors of the organization (org=slave=gb), but he won't accept any disobedience to the slave.

  Those 8 men in Brooklyn are the only people on earth that Jah and Jesus communicate with, and everyone has to acknowledge these men as receiving this position if they want salvation. That is the sad reality of the JW religon.

  Discussion with family member who is an Elder in our congregation

  so about a week ago, i showed my cousin & her husband [an elder in our congregation] the picture on pg 29 of our 4/15/2013 study wt and asked, "if jesus is head of the congregation then where is he?".

  after several minutes of searching, dead silence.. i then asked if they had heard the part on the 2012 summer district conv the part about "our spiritual mother, where the c.o said that "the bible by itself does not shine thru as life-giving truths just by itself.

  " they were shocked and said that i must have misheard it because that would be apostasy.

  The illustration shows the entire structure of the org from top to bottom. Jehovah and the angels, and there are many angels pictured, are leading the way. No Jesus.

  im amazed how going witnessing sisters who knew me for decades would sit only in the back seat on the way to the hall...to avoid any sex at the traffic lights!!!

  and chaperons 1840's style are needed because two witnesses alone for 10 minutes would go at it like animals even after all the training watchtower articles and talks being jahs clean org.

  this is what I thought was so looney. I remember having to take separate cars out in service if only myself and a pioneer sister showed up for the service meeting during the week, as if we might happen to have sex on the way to the territory

  That would be awkward, having sex while out in the ministry. . . . . I mean, aren't the angels supposed to be watching?
