What the hell is that ring of purple dots? That green dot must be a demon.

WTF just happened??? An elder I haven't seen in years stopped by to hand me a XXXXXXXX !!!
by Calebs Airplane inso yesterday afternoon, an elder who lives only 3 blocks away drives up to my house as i was about to enter my car.
as he gets out of his car, i noticed he had a stack of photocopied paper in his hand and he seemed quite nervous.
i was genuinely happy to see him nonetheless since he is pretty easygoing and very likeable.

I take it you are not df'd, and you have just faded? Don't elders have a responsibility to check up on inactive ones every so often? Elder 1 may have been feeling guilty for ignoring you. He may like you but has been ignoring you for no other reason except your absence from the Hall. Elder 2 seems to hold grudge with the best of them.

I am not sure that I or anyone else said that higher education automatically equals atheism.
When it comes to debating Gods existence on this forum, more often than not it is the atheists who use logical arguments and scientific facts. That's all I was saying.
Trying to equate studying WT articles with those who want scientifc evidence for God might be insulting to a few people here. Not me though, I don't care much for God or even science really. One thing about science though, it is true whether or not you choose to believe it. This is not so with the bible, it requires giant leaps of faith and logic.
The bible is full of errors and contradictions. The belief that the bible is Gods word, his method for communicating with mankind and his primary way of revealing himself to us (besides creation if your that way inclined) , is hard to defend in this age of information. If it is from God, it is a pretty clumsy effort.

I am not into debating the existence of God, but I hope you get some replies Villagegirl. I did notice you use many sweeping generalizations about non believers and also demanded they educate themselves. More often than not it is the athiests who have science, facts and education on there side.
I hope you get a reply from cofty and consider his posts carefully with an open mind.
Just on the bible teaching the earth was round. The verse in Isaiah could refer to a round flat earth. When you consider that he mentions spreading a tent over the earth it would seem he meant flat. Also Satan takes Jesus to a unusually high mountain where he can view all the Kingdoms of earth, this would include the Shang Dynasty in China plus civilizations in America and so on. Seems to refer to a flat earth. In Daniel 4 the tree grows to such a height that it is visible in all the earth. Seems to refer to a flat earth. Again in Job, the bible says the earth takes shape like a clay seal, which again would seem to indicate the belief in a flat earth.
The bible doesn't really say for sure either way what the shape of the earth is, but picking out one verse in isolation and trying to make the bible sound like an ancient inspired science text book does nothing to prove the existence of God.

Avoiding the subject
by dissonance_resolved inso as i progress in my fade, i've started to notice a curious phenomenon.
just when i think this will be the missed meeting/ field service/ assembly that will cause all heck to break to loose- no one says anything.
this includes immediate family and extended family in the same congregation.

My family have noticed my drop in attendance and are concerned. I am also hounded by my group overseer for sheparding visits. Keep in mind, that I have not met with the group for field circus in many months, so while I call him my group overseer, that term is getting less and less relevant as time passes. He can't keep asking for a sheparding visit forever, but if he does I will tell him to stop asking.
I don't think we are overly paranoid. I know I have had some group overseers in the past that would not attempt making any sheparding visits, so it depends on individuals and circumstances I think. They had me in line as a possible MS so they could load me up with meeting parts. Because I suddenly became inactive they have been trying to find out what has caused the sudden change in attitude.
I wish everyone in my circle would just avoid the subject, it would make fading much easier.

there is a newly baptized sister in the cong who is already doubting sucks for her. she has been on apostate websites
Do you know what sites or information she has been looking at? Everyone who chooses to leave the Watchtower religion needs to investigate and prove that it is not the truth to themselves. You should encourage her to investigate the religion and critically examine the beliefs. Get her to look at JWfacts and this site.
If you can, it would be nice to help free her of the mental chains that the WT has put her in, before she wastes her life in what is basically a scam. You would be doing her an incredible service.

Hello and welcome. You are on the right track. Don't become an unbaptized publisher. And do not, for the love of all things sacred, get baptized into this religion.
The elders and the central authority of this religion have no power or control over you.
You could, just to mess with them a bit, ask questions like, "Will Jehovah destroy me if I don't dedicate myself to the organization?". "Is there any reasonable objections people have with this religion, or is there no such thing?"
Get on with your life and put the WT well out of your mind.

I remember that story from 60 minutes in Australia a few years back. Crazy stuff. I remember the police officers could not control one of the women, she had some high adrenalin strength happening.
I heard that those girls studied the Watchtower and now they are baptized, special pioneers, serving where the need is great and receiving rich blessings from Jehovah. The WT cured them of demons.
