I just felt compelled to, in the presence of so many like minded people. I wasn't nervous or worried, in fact I was concerned as I couldn't log in for 24 hours after signing up and thought I wasn't going to be 'accepted'.

I'm having a bath, pc tablet in hand whilst wife and kids are off to the k hall, however I don't have calmness as I'd prefer my kids not go. They haven't for 4 weeks but this week is C O week and they want to go.

Greetings from a new member
by EdenOne ingreetings everyone.. just wanted to say hello to everyone, being a new member from western europe.. some may know me from another forum (eden, from e-jehovas-witnesses.com), but most don't, so this is my little intro.. male, in my early 40's.
still an active member in good standing of a jehovah's witnesses congregation in my country, and honestly not planning to change that status, despite my unorthodox beliefs.
sometime i will elaborate the reason why i don't feel i must leave.

Hi Eden, I'm amazed at how you can be closely associated with an organisation you say you have no intention of furthering the top executives interests. I realise there are many sincere ones blindly following, but they are following the GB. The mental anguish for me was too great to bear once the penny fully dropped for me.

Anyone else in "limbo?"
by KitchenWitDinah ini've been out of the organization for about 4 years now, but have been in limbo since i've left.
the more i learn about world religions, the less apt i am to accept anything as truth, since there are so many similarities between so many religions.
i know many cultures have flood myths involving 40-ish days and 8 survivors (the chinese written language has many surprising allusions to biblical stories).

I found it fascinating how many variations of the same stories there are, but see them just as that, stories. I don't read into them, just move on with the story of my own life

Interesting District Convention News.....
by Pyramid Scheme ini wanted to share some news from a family friend (he is my wt mole - still an elder, hates the shenanigans, but is still hanging on for all the reasons often discussed on this site) i know the various rumors have been discussed on here, and unfortunately the rumor about the conventions being eliminated weren't true!
(what a burden on the jw community - financial hardship for a good portion of them, guilting people into actually quitting their job to attend, physically exhausting for many, etc...etc......).
anyway, he told me that the district convention is being moved to 11 weekends at the jw-owned circuit assembly hall, and they are no longer planning on renting stadiums/large facilities in our area (northern ohio/southern michigan).

A few years ago I was at the Surrey Assembly Hall (UK) and they had just installed a big screen, the rumour at the time was that it was for video link ups for district conventions, I'm not sure as it ever was used this way.

I'm in, and having a hard time biting my tongue sometimes
by noonehome ini spend allot of time with other young witnesses my age, and am very close to a few of these friends.
my question is, is there any way to safely talk about doubts?
for instance, i've been learning allot about evolution and the science behind the flood (or lack thereof).

I told my doubts to 2 people, a close friend who had faded and we have great discussions, the other was an elder friend I had, a few months after I left i met another elder who said 'i hear you have apostate leanings'
Be careful who you talk to. 'Fortunately' I left with depression so the elders are wary when talking to me.
