Welcome to the both of you and your weans, from a member in snowy Scotland. Glad you shared your story with us, it's so familiar, you've done the best for your kids. I just realised I have the hall keys too!

Two Witnesses stuck in a elevator or car without Chaperon. Would they fornicate? Yes/No
by Witness 007 inim amazed how going witnessing sisters who knew me for decades would sit only in the back seat on the way to the hall...to avoid any sex at the traffic lights!!!
and chaperons 1840's style are needed because two witnesses alone for 10 minutes would go at it like animals even after all the training watchtower articles and talks being jahs clean org.
and all..

Mind Reading and Reinstatement - Part 1
by RayPublisher ini've published a new article on my blog about the agony that people go through in seeking reinstatement.
part one includes a personal experience of one that crawled throught this field of glass in order to be able to regain a relationship with a close friend that is asleep in the jw movement.. part two will have a transcript (and accompanying audio on my youtube channel) from a sister that recorded her entire reinstatement hearing, including what the elders said about her after she was dismissed from the room while they deliberated.. here's a peek at the article on jwstruggle:.
.. .. .. there are likely a number of you on jwnet that have "been there and back again" and gone through it.. what was the hardest thing about getting reinstated?.

Incident with the Jehovah's Witness babysitter...
by garyneal inmy youngest daughter is so cute, she loves singing and loves being festive.
when i put up the tree, she loved saying, "it's christmas, it's pretty...." her babysitter, a witness from my wife's hall, lives next door to a neighbor who put up decorations in the yard like i did in front of our apartment.
when we leave her house, she would run next door to look at the "christmas" as she would say, "look, the christmas.

Live your own life, not someone else's. Besides you know it's just a phase, she'll be singing something else soon.

How to judge pedophilia on paradise ?
by Lurker001 inmy very first topic post, to present myself i only can say i'd been a lurker here for a while.. .
since english is not my mother tongue please just disregard my grammatical faults as well unfluency in the composition of my text.. i felt motivated to post because i'm interesting to now your opinion to the subject below explained .
because myself i could not find a perfect solution without raising collateral questions.. .

Hi, and welcome here. I guess most JWs would say that in the 'paradise' everyone is perfect and won't have imperfect thoughts, perhaps they think that no one will have free will also. And in time once the earth is filled there will be no children.
All the above does not sound valid, I like your reasoning. As far as my belief goes, there is no 'loving Father' about to bring paradise

New Girl
by excitesinceredetermination inhello to everyone :) i wanted to introduce myself as a newbie.
i was raised in and i am currently on active status due to most of my family being very much in, but i am so ready to be done and have felt that way for quite some time.
internally i know this is not the right religion without a doubt.

Happy@last - How did you introduce your children to everything and how did you temper their unsure reactions (if there were any?)
For birthdays I said that to me it was quite important that I don't let their birthday go by without acknowledgement and asked if they would be offended by me giving them a present. Guess what, they said no. The cake was a bonus for them.
For Christmas I asked each one seperately how they felt about Christmas. My eldest said they did not get where the JWs were coming from, my youngest said they liked all the lights. I asked them both (seperately at different times) if they wanted to be involved this time, without going over the top, and they both said without hesitation "Yes". I bough them fairy lights to decorate their rooms, an LED tree and lights for the living room, and loads of presents.
They know that their uncles and aunties and cousins wouldn't approve so didn't advertise what they were doing, I'm sure if they were asked they blamed 'daddy'.

Were you popular in your congregation or district?
by Emery innot to start some form of popularity contests here but i was wondering how popular some people were?
how far did your network go in this organization?
this question also pertains to those who are actively fading..
-
happy@last
I was/am well known (faded just over a year, wife still in), and only 'popular' when I was needed to do something. I then became very popular when I stepped down as an elder, I've never had so many invites for dinner, that lasted about a month, even invites through the week! Since then, nothing and I'm so glad.

Welcome here, a hiding place from the wind! I too saw and experienced the lack of love in the KHall, glad you found this place.
I too was introduced to the cult at an early age, and remember birthdays and Christmas, I am happy to have faded away from the constraints and loveless place and introduce my kids to birthdays and Christmas after they have missed out for a number of years.
