ChiChi89, first of all, welcome here, this is a friendly place, stay a while.
Second, please see this as an opportunity, a time for a breather to re-evaluate all the rules and regulations you have been living under. Take time to research what you believe, and see if you can re-connect with some of your 'wordly' friends.
You do not state whether you are in education, working, have family etc.. Assess what you DO have, not what you don't for the moment.

Flawed Heroes
by jgnat inbeing the inquiring sort, i've read deeper in to the past of some of my heroes, and found....flaws.
it shakes me up.
i wonder; is my hero worth emulating?

Everyone who makes it through today despite adversity is a hero. The trouble is, putting someone on a pedestal doesn't change the fact they are still human and may have had words of wisdom some days, they sure would have had failings other days.

verybelated intro: Tylin
by Tylinbrando inso i have been a lurker on this forum since its inception.
i registered over a year ago.
i jumped in several months back with a highly controversial subject of my daughter being sexually abused by an elder and the efforts we were taking to bring him to justice.

Misquotes, Lies and deception in Watchtower Publications
by jwfacts ini have just finished an article misquotes, deception and lies and would like your comments, proof reading, and any other examples that you think are important to add.
most of these already appear on jwfacts.com within specific articles, but it is more powerful seeing them included together.
there have also been a number of requests over the years for such a collection.

Dear happy@last,
I hope everything goes well for you today. I admire your courage and strength to stand up for yourself , even if it has been many years. I hope you find the desired closer.
How you wrote of the snow falling gave me a sense of calm. Maybe this is your touchstone for inner peace during this time.
My thoughts are with you today.
Let us know how it went .
Hugs
eva luna
That's me back after my trip, spent 6 hours in the interview room and have a lengthy statement, I'll see where it goes from here. I was drained after but happy to have done this, it is scary to see 5 years of abuse written down in chronological order, some people are very sick!
I has given me a sense of relief, for me it was the right time to do it, having suffered a nervous breakdown and come through it a couple of years ago, I knew I could face talking for the first time in my adult life about the things I suffered. These events took place 30 years ago, and I am only just able to speak of them.
Anyhow, I really appreciate all the messages of support, and look forward to a busy, fulfilling weekend. The sun is out today and I am starting to feel normal again.

Coca Cola Death? Should i sell my KO stock?
by skeeter1 incoroner says coca-cola addiction responsible for womans death neetzan zimmerman .
when 30-year-old natasha harris of invercargill, new zealand, died of a heart attack three years ago, her family suspected the cause of death was linked to her extreme fondness for coca-cola.. drinking as much as 10 litres (2.5 gallons) a day left the mother of eight with myriad health problems, including cardiac arrhythmia, rotten teeth, and a full-blown addiction.. "(she would) go crazy if she ran out... she would get the shakes, withdrawal symptoms, be angry, on edge and snappy," harris's mother-in-law said last year.. harris's husband, christopher hodgkinson, recalled how his wife's health quickly deteriorated in the months prior to her death.
"she had no energy and was feeling sick all the time ... she would get up and vomit in the morning," he said.. coca-cola has persistently maintained that, despite her daily consumption of twice the recommended caffeine intake and over 11 times the acceptable amount of sugar, harris's death could not be definitively linked to her coke habit.. but a coroner report released today claims to have done just that.. wrote coroner david crerar: "i find that, when all of the available evidence is considered, were it not for the consumption of very large quantities of coke by natasha harris, it is unlikely that she would have died when she died and how she died.".

In the BBC report on this the coroner said the following:
"The fact she had her teeth extracted several years before her death because of what her family believed was Coke-induced tooth decay, and the fact that one or more of her children were born without enamel on their teeth, should have been treated by her, and by her family, as a warning," TVNZquotes his statement as saying.
