He was probably assigned to come and see you, and now he can report back that he did but nobody was in.

by okage inso i started going to church with her, and bible studies at her home.
in hindsight.... i found out that she made these moves a few days later when i showed up to her family's house for the study.

Looking for a disassociation letter

i have been looking for it and can't find it.
i don't even remember who wrote it but they didn't send it at the time.

Superbly put free2beme, sadly most elders won't have a clue how beautiful that paragraph is. If I were to write one it'll be simple, "I no longer want to be known as or have any association with JWs"

Elders need to see things from Jehovah's perspective in a child molestation case
by suavojr inwhile preaching this past saturday 3-16-13 the following conversation took place in my car with an elder from my cong, my wife, a retired sister and myself.. me: addressing my wife i asked her: do you know how is brother (moron) that crashed his car into a fire station while drunk?
wife: don't know.
last thing i heard was that he was in a critical condition.at this point the elder chimes in.. elder: poor guy!

shunning wrecks families
by bigmac inthread started to avoid going off topic elsewhere.. this matter of shunning---my story.. i made the decision to resign from the jw religion in my early twenties--i'm 65 now.
i knew i would never deny any of mine a blood transfusion--just to appease this religion --and its deity.. my jw wife had just had our first child--a girl---and we went on over the next 7 years to have 2 more planned for kids---both boys.
i like to think i was a good dad--they meant everything to me.. i hold up my hand and admit i caused the break up of that marriage---my wife stayed in the religion--and--apparently it was announced in the kh i couldnt be d/f'd---as i hadnt been a jw for years---so they said i was an apostate.. fast forward a few years--into the mid 80's---i had remarried--and led a relatively normal life.

Your stories make me want to scream out my lungs in anger, it is disgusting what this cult does. Thinking of you all, try to find one thing today that makes you smile.

Thinking of having revenge on the jw girl
by spirituk inhello again, following my story with this girl , and after she blocked me on fb and not answering my phone calls since december , i am now thinking of taking revenge.my feelings of pain are starting to become hate ,and pain always is accompanied by the feeling of revenge to satisfy this bad feeling.i just cant simply forget what shes done to me.
the reasons of my revenge :.
1.she played with my feelings when she knew from the start that she would leave me one day.

Fading begins - there are people who are 'users', that's who they are and they can't be taught differently

Is this true? Do the elders really do it like this?
by Julia Orwell ini put this week's wt paragraph about disfellowshipping on my fb page and said how poor robert's family didn't even check to see whether he was dead or alive in 16 years and a friend of mine of the 'conscious class' commented about how unchristian she felt disfellowshipping to this degree is, and i agreed.. another friend, and uber-jw who has a host of illnesses and yet pioneers, who everytime she and her husband go to another congregation, if he's not appointed within three years they move to another and try for an appointment there - he used to be an elder and no one is willing to promote him again- replied to my thread.
now keep in mind she has a dfd son and she doesn't even know whether he is dead or alive, because she follows the wt to the tee.
she replied, among other things, with this:.

It may be that over a period of time a person was counselled about something, and told the consequence of not following the counsel would be disfellowshipping. That is a point that is considered in a JC, has the person been repeatedly counselled, if so are they truly repentant.
Within the setting of a JC only, there is no repeating of consequences, the elders are told that they are to look for repentance even during the JC as they may have a change of heart.
