Update from the land of Southern Africa
by LouBelle inwell 2013 is behind me and i'm pleased that it is done and dusted.
it was a hard one, filled with doubt, fear, pain and horribleness.
i was very fortunate to get out of that horrid job and get back into advertising with the fever.

This night a dream made me cry
by Gorbatchov inthis night was a painful one.
i had a very emotional dream and woke up realise that i was crying emotional.. in my dream my past 43 years did go by with all my close family and ended abruptly after i had to tell my paralyzed brother that we were the only two left and that our parents died.. because he can't talk, he only could express himself with his facial expression in his small room of an institute.
it seems something is going on with me, it feels painful and i think it has to do something with our believe background.. wish me luck to deal l with it.. gorby.

Nightmares can leave you a bit unsettled however nightmares in your sleep are better than nightmares when you are awake. Do something today to make you fell happy.

It was a very sad storyline, quite shocking. I wonder how the couple you talk about felt about being in heaven together!!

Money motivates people, they'd find a way to bend the rules to suit themselves.

It must be horrible for you to watch them suffer this way though.
It sure is! I don't think my eldest would ever consider baptism thankfully, but it is very confusing for them all the same.

lildev, sorry to hear of her reaction. I faded for over 2 years so my children could see I'm not the bad person the JWs would make me out to be.

I have 2, one pre teen, another mid teen. The pre teen does not go anymore, her mother says it is because I am blackmailing her by having a good time with her! My daughter says the meetings are boring. The mid teen is sadly confused and feels sorry for her mother, she goes but pays little attention to what is going on, I ask her every now and then and she shrugs her shoulders.
I do not agree to either going door to door, the older one will only go on 'calls' with her mother.
An odd thing happened recently. I have DA'd myself recently, and the child of an elder recently shunned my daughters! Saves me from having to highlight how inhumane they are.

How did you get over.......
by DS211 inyour cognitive dissonance, particularly that with living out in the"world"?
and any with children, how did you get over the fear of your kids interacting with other kids, bad habits, and the other fears with leaving the borg?
just curious as i too have many moments of "oh god how will my kids grow up in this world?

Have a look at the kids yours go to school with, and who they choose to play with at school. Are they bad? I prefer mine being with children that are not being manipulated into being fearful of armageddon, fearful of having happy times at birthdays and christmas etc.
It is sad but take the child set up as a good example by JWs and strip away the indoctrination, what do you have left? A kid that cannot think for themselves in my opinion.
