i just read about this on the ex-jw subreddit.

link to the video (10m06s).. skip to 7:35 where he says: "another way we can contribute to the oneness - rejecting false stories that are designed to separate us from jehovah's organization.

as an example, think about the apostate-driven lies and 'dishonesties' that jehovah's organization is permissive toward pedophiles.

So let me get this right, the rank and file are to think that when they hear a report about the police arresting a JW pedophile, a jury finding them guilty and a judge passing sentence it is all lies!!

Therefore the victim/survivor who bravely came forward did so not to seek justice but to be apostate??

This is just sick and twisted.

i don't want hate in our hearts - jw are wrong oh so wrong - and i want to blame this religion for making me cold and distant to the world.

but i believe everything is meant to be, we all have purpose in this world.

I was visited by them a couple of years ago before I DA'd. I told them I thought it was ridiculous and petty and I would not tell them if I had a tree in my own house or not. They said 'it has been reported...' I asked who reported it and they said they did not know, so I said if they were not going to tell me then I was not going to tell them! It became extremely silly.

Welcome, what a sad story. And I bet some younger elder told him after you shouldn't ask Jehovah that in a public prayer.

My PCs, phone and tablet all keep me logged in which is great for me! Speed doesn't seem to be an issue either for me. I've noticed my post count has gone down too, and to answer Black Sheep, I think Simon had simply asked if the flag was a good idea, many said no.

New forum: one month progress report

well, we survived the first month at least!

yes, the new forum is now 1 month old.. of course there have been some issues and i'm grateful that people have been patient while i worked on them.

a big thank-you to everyone who's been patient, have provided useful feedback or just been willing to adapt to something new during the transition.. i've also made some improvements along the way and am fairly happy with how things are from a basic functionality and performance perspective so it's time to start looking at some of the new features i've been planning.
