Weana, that is not necessarily the case, I had the same in the UK, my abuse was reported nearly 30 years ago and the perpetrator was never prosecuted. About 10 years ago I alerted the police again so he is on an offenders register, I am now trying to get him prosecuted. The reason he wasn't 30 years ago after the police got involved was because my mum asked them not to! She didn't and still doesn't want gods name brought reproach!

The story of Bo Juel Jensen - the man behind the Anti-Watchtower media campaign in Norway
by cedars inhi guys.
richard e. kelly has kindly contributed a great article to jwsurvey.org on the link below.... http://jwsurvey.org/child-abuse-2/bo-juel-jensen-could-he-be-watchtowers-worst-nightmare.
richard tells the story of bo juel jensen, an ex-witness who has been doing marvellous work in raising awareness of watchtower child abuse mishandling in norway.. as with most child abuse victims, bo's story is a disturbing one.

Not sure what to do next
by magotan ini'm 19, and i'm still currently a jw.
i guess i'm a born-in, or whatever you guys call it.
i've had some serious issues with the faith at the moment, and sexuality is a huge part.

Welcome here, you'll find much support here. I'm glad you are getting help from outside the 'organization', be honest and truthful to them and yourself. It's a pity you were baptised despite having doubts at such an early age. And with people watching you so closely your nerves must be on edge all the time. Take your time, set goals about where you want to be, and live your life, not someone else's.

A very moving story, as as already said in no way isolated, the policies of the WTS protect the predator, not the victim. Bo is a survivor like many of us, and courageous to have done what he has.

Websites And Their Operators Who Help J.W.N. Members Real Time.
by ÁrbolesdeArabia ini get a little testy when "spammer's" or other loathsome individuals use jwn to push their own shoddy websites while offering nothing to members of jehovah-witness.net.
the member who never has time to post a soothing answer to "urgent question need help" or "my parents just kicked me out", "i am thinking of death" but have plenty of time to "pump and dump" their own website or blogger.
i thought of some of the very good people here who have websites, but take lots of time to help new or old members with emotional, spiritual or other problems life throw's at them.

I think that short 'power naps' would do her more good, it looked to me as if that's what she was doing!

New Member...
by sosoconfused inhello everyone, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.. i am a mid 30's just stepped aside elder, who just couldn't handle it anymore.. i am a 3rd generation born-in and former pioneer and bethelite.
it has been a log somewhat confusing ride for me, but i am finally settling in to realizing that i need to really look at what me and my family are doing.. .
its funny though what really got me here... it wasn't the 40 year old men telling me they were looking at boobies on the computer and hoping not to get in trouble, it wasn't the watching young people bail left and right, it wasn't the ever changing new light etc... but a simple thought.. .

Welcome here. I was an elder and have been away for over a year, I have children too. The youngest found it hard, having nightmares about me dying at Armageddon. I spent a lot of time letting them know that I was OK, and demonstrating I am not a bad person, and that if Jehovah can read hearts everything will be OK. That did the trick for the youngest. The older is fine and only finds the confusion in the K Hall, saying that things dont make sense, and I simply agree that they do not (I have highlighted a few ponts too, but not overkill). Most Sundays mornings they prefer coming with me to do fun stuff, but they still like to see their friends sometimes at the K Hall.

Here is the funeral talk outline. VERY discraceful.
by stillstuckcruz inthis is truly terrible.
i just love the statement "instead of eulogizing the deceased, use the material in this outline to give a fine witness concerning the truth.
" in other words, utterly disregard the deceased.

I gave a funeral talk, the PO gave me the outline but I did my own, speaking all about the old person that had passed away, they'd had a very interesting life before becoming a JW. everyone after said how much they enjoyed it, some even requested that I give theirs when the time came! its not dignified or respectful to use the occasion as an advert for a religion.

A JW got checked in my congo
by XPeterX inthe announcement was something like "[name] got checked".well if he ain't got df'ed then what does this mean?is it based on the bible?where does this policy come from?how is the rest of the congregation supposed to behave to that person in a situation like this?what happened in the background anyway?is he checked for a period of time or what?any restrictions?.

There must have been a change in policy, when i was in someone marked would not have it announced, a talk would be given on why and those in the know would guess what it was about
