Ireland apologizes to women of Catholic laundries
by designs inthe catholic laundries known as the magdelene laundries were where thousands of women were kept incarcerated as 'prostitutes' although very few actually were.
most of the thousands of women were from broken homes and homeless.. ireland has conducted 5 formal investigations into these catholic run houses.
these women were sentenced to these labor and boarding houses by the state and courts.

I grew up in this "crappy" type theocracy in Ireland, and my right wing American friends here in the USA can't understand why I'm so against their religious input into American politics. It was terrible in Ireland, and is terrible in the middle east. ...Vote for the tea party and GOP, if you want to go back to the middle ages !!!

MIT Survey on science, religion and origins
by Pterist ininteresting read and graph:.
*****i'd been warned.
a friend cautioned me that if we went ahead and posted our mit survey on science, religion and origins, i'd get inundated with hate-mail from religious fundamentalists who believe our universe to be less than 10,000 years old.

Tammy*** I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with the big bang theory.****
Agreed, the great research accomplished with the Hubble Telscope, pretty much confirms the "big bang" theory and the resultant "crunch". This "evidence" poses the question what existed BEFORE the "big bang". This is a bigger problem for atheists than theists considering their dogma that evidence is needed to prove anything, and they must admit they can't show any evidence and say, they do not know what preceded or caused the big bang !

If we are talking about the "new light" as their 2 different definations of the FDS, effectively saying, "the GB is the FDS" and the GB is NOT YET the FDS, seems like a legal minuver to me. Where they can say one or the other depending on their audience.
For lording it over the r&f its definition 1, in a legal situation where they are held accountable for their bad policies that have led to children dying, over the blood doctrine, and the free reign of pedohiles, its definition 2, as so not to be held accountable for the office they hold.

*** Faith asserts things to be true based on insufficient evidence.***
What or where is the sufficient evidence to point to that "nothing" or "no-cause" preceded the "big bang"?

**** Why not just accept that we don't yet know about the origin of the unviverse?****
I guess for me it's the "WOW" sensation, the vast energy, power and enormity of the universe, and my insignificance compared to it. ;)

Faith in a first cause does not exclude the wonders that science can discover and manipulate, it acknowledges "his" authorship.
