All local WiFi routers can monitored and control internet traffic with good firewall software. However, laptops Tablets, iPads, etc can have access to the internet via a wireless data provider, bypassing any local WiFi at KHs etc. The WBTS may get into the market with their own hardware device (jPad) with a INTRANET ONLY connection, they have a captive audience. ;)

by purrpurr ini've noticed about half my half are using these.
of course there's always the potential for people to be looking at things non jw on them.
are the society going to find a way to police this?

Bible Teach Book : What would you teach?
by raymond frantz inthe bible teach book is the one used currently to teach people the truth of the bible .which one is your favored chapter ?
what teachings are currently missing and which should be ommited from this book ?
for example in my opinion the teaching about grace is missing ,a doctrine that paul dealt with so many times in his teachings.

A quick glance shows they have shyed away from the more controversial teachings like, 1914 one generation, blood transfusions, and have mirrored their "evil slave" 's (as slandered by Rutherford) approach http://www.dawnbible.com/books.htm of generic popular Bible topics.

Something Big is Coming...

"at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".

The changes maybe due to the new branding JW.org and the ongoing audits to their "charitable" NPO status. It may be a contingency plan that if they need to dissolve the WBTS NPO temporary or otherwise, resulting in all KHs locked down, loyality to the local elders would be the order of the day. They already have the r& f primed for the boogeyman "Assyrian" attack, and pledged financial support to them directly. Just a thought.

Speculation: Female Ministerial Servants coming soon
by Londo111 inive no source for this, just personal speculation.. * there is a good case to be made that there were female deacons (ministerial servants) in the bible.. * there is a lack of qualified brothers for basic assignments such as microphones, accounts, literature.
in some cases, elders have had to do double duty because of a lack of ministerial servants or qualified brothers.. * women outnumber men in the organization.. * there is supposedly a surprising change coming "down the pipe".. perhaps the only difference between male and female ministerial servants is that women will still not be allowed to teach..

I frequent a local SDA church occasionally, and now and then they have a nice lady give the Saturday "public" talk when the pastor is absent.
I believe the early Christian church just followed Roman culture and did not rock the boat with that protocol, I read some good books on Christianity adopting and adapting in different cultures, no reason in our culture to prohibit women in the church, she is already the boss at home LOL

Infowarrior ****I never thought I would see these things happen in the Watchtower*****
I remember back to my first congregation of JWs in Ireland where the local "dubs" (Dubliner's) were exactly like this, happy, loud, and warm. LOL
The local "dub" elders would lease out conference rooms in hotels, occasionsally and had clothing, (mens suits, women's dresses and kids clothing) made avialable for the poorer brothers and sisters, while we also had entertainment, music, dance, food, and not too few drinks ;)
This congregation to me was what a religion was all about, a brotherhood, a spiritual family, I was so happy. However, in my naïveté, I later found out that these get togethers were not officially approved by the "legalists" in the congregation and we were regarded as liberal and marked as spiritually weak.
Most if not all of these brother and sisters came to relize after Ray Franz was disfellowshipped that there was no real "love" in this cold calculating organisation. Incidentally, some of the elders went to Brooklyn to get more information about Ray and subsequently disfellowshipped, which resulted in a mass exodus (at least 50 people) of the local Dubliners after the legalists witch hunt.
iMHO this new display of how things should be, is pure propaganda. !
This is documented on this forum ...the 1980s split in Ireland ..elders John May etc
