11:3-10)the july 15, 2002 issue of the watchtower, page 27, explains: this is a pre arranged session of teaching where the one conducting the study actually presides.
They say a head covering is God's requirement, but because it makes them look like fools they opt out on the doorstep, before a publisher has had the chance to be somewhat indoctrinated.
And also because the neighbors will be better able to see the craziness if it's happening on the doorstep.

Comatose: It's been several phrases that come and go like fads (in his own head), but the annoyingly-misspelled one you mentioned was a glaring example, yes. Sometimes he posts these phrases in rapid succession to a series of threads.

Thanks for the changes. Nothing too scandalous for the most part, just common-sense copy-editing. The "Jesus himself said" fix is amusing. But the really interesting one is changing "calculate" to "discern".

i was watching a youtube video of exjw in italy who explained what woke his mind up.
it's an old recording and this guy became an evangelist, however for those who don't speak italian i want to briefly explain what started the awakening process for him as i found it interesting.. this guy found an old lady in the ministry and started a bible study but she couldn't see the scriptures as the writing were too small and at the time there weren't wt publications in big characters so the brother went to the city centre to a place where they sold bibles and bought the one with the biggest characters.
the sales man said to him: i know you're a jw and i know you read the bible, and you don't only read the bible but you study the bible and not only you studying it but you go preach the bible to other people.
"Faith without works is dead." It's how the WT defines "works" that's part of the problem ("No soup kitchen for you!").
Providing that believing in christ isn't just a "ok I believe this wise man existed" I'm talking real belief
There's the trap. The Society teaches that people are generally not doing anything more than believing Jesus existed, and in any case they are not worshiping him the right way (because of the cross vs. stake deal, etc.).

the study today was as expected.
a combination of simple acceptance, formulaic research and mistakes.. there are clearly many who cannot read a reference (to the wt 95) regarding the sheep and the goats and consider the repetition of the the understanding of the timing of the judging as new light.
But the sky is orange, daringhart13. At many sunsets, a western portion of the sky turns orange. This side of the sky overlaps with the rest of the sky, seeing as all of it is one continuous sky from west to east. Sunset overlaps with the rest of the day, as those who saw the morning and noon will also see the sunset. Therefore, the sky is all orange all the time. You must have missed that WT lesson.

The JWs would say that you would never choose to sin in the first place. The trials of this system and the post-1000 year trial by Satan would make sure that anyone who gets that far would never turn against God. However, QC may have a different answer.
I'm more interested in hearing QC explain why Adam and Eve's sin had to carry down to all of us. He seems to treat imperfection as a natural consequence of sin. I'd like to hear how that would work on a genetic level. It sounds like God designed some sort of boobytrap, and I'm just wondering why he would do that to the rest of us.
Actually, truth be told, I'm more interested in hearing more about Captain Obvious and his wife fooling around, as it's a much more relevant and tangible subject than reconciling modern science with ancient man's thoughts on why snakes don't have legs.

This is too stupid for me to laugh at.
perhaps, one of the most arrogant and contradicting behaviors of jdubs.... what is the difference between celebrating a baby shower and a birthday?...they both have ancient origins, from pagan people, including egyptians and the greek.... have you guys noticed any other hypocrite celebrations/behaviors jdubs engage in?.
If congratulating a woman on getting married was satanic, whoever wrote that must have had a heart attack when women's lib happened a couple decades later. I hope.
