  Do we know for sure what happens after death?

  christian denominations say we go to heaven, witness say we stay alseep until ressurection.

  quran says when we go we grt 72 virgins, unless we blow some people up.. .

  i'm not really concerned with death atm, i'm not dead.

  Now that I think about it, where do all those virgins come from, anyway?

  How many of the GB helpers are "anointed"?

  i wonder how many of these are "anointed"?

  all the current seven gb members were helpers first and then appointed to be gb members.

  Why can't a JW realize they're anointed later in life, factfinder? Are you referring to the belief that the 144,000 should already have been selected a long time ago? The explanation is supposed to be that the new anointed ones are replacements for others that strayed during their earthly course. Although if someone starts partaking in 2014 then they would probably have to be a fourth or sixth generation replacement.

  Terminology the Society Hates?

  in my most recent talk, i got counseled for using some terms that were not prefered.

  for example i said "new testament" rather than "the christian greek scriptures".

  i also used the term "gospel", but even worse, i made reference to the "synoptic gospels" and the "gnostic gospel".. i guess i never thought of it before, but when i looked at the societies information on the matter they always say things like, "the so-called new testament..." or "the so-called synoptic gospels..." why with all the "so-called?".

  I never noticed this one until I started coming here, but now when I hear a brother say "information board" instead of "bulletin board" I'm always kind of agoggle that such a mundane subject has to be a part of the special Watchtower lingo. Maybe churches say "bulletin board", but really? Is it a term that has such a strong connection to "false religion" that it has to be verboten?

  I wasn't extrapolating anything, I was just trying to understand your reasoning. I still don't. I guess if you stay out of bad neighborhoods or carry enough "mugging money" you'll probably be fine?

  Anyway, nobody should want to shoot another person, and I was disagreeing earlier with the Drty Harry mentality of "if anyone breaks into my house, I'm just going to open fire on them". But as Cold Steel demonstrated, having a gun is often a sufficient deterrent, without having to use it.

  The only thing anyone can say for sure is that we should make this life count.
