War broke out in heaven
by irondork inand war broke out in heaven: michael and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven.
so down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called devil and satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.
- revelation 12:7-9. this took no time at all, for it is written:w97 5/1 p.29remember that according to revelation 12:9, 10, with the establishment of gods heavenly kingdom in 1914, satan was cast down to the vicinity of the earth.but it took jesus three years to figure out who his true followers were on earth.

WT August 15, 2013 QFR - Sitting next to a disfellowshipped child at meetings
by Designer Stubble inpage 8 of the latest wt (insider version) has a whole page dedicated to the question whether it is appropriate to sit next to a disfellowshipped child at meetings.. not sure how to paste this in, but check jw.org.
perhaps someone can do this for me.. horrible, no words really on how pharisee like their cult grip and control has become!.
first of all, without any shame they are talking about disfellowshipped minors.

There had to be conception or else he did not got his birth as a offspring of Abraham, David etc.
I had a lot of thoughts about this and I think the following:
The imperfection is in the genes of males.. not of females... O... females ARE off course imperfect but they do not pass it over. The imperfection is within the seed of males. The Bible states that by one MAN, sin came into the world. Did not Eva also sinned? Yes she did... but the male get's the credits for it.
Because the origin of Jesus of from a different source and by protection of the Holy Spirit who cared for the fruit, Jesus could be without flaws. There was no seed of males involved.
If there was no conception then the whole birth-thing would have been useless... he could have come in the world as a fullgrown person instead...
So Jesus was a hebrew... by birth

I think I've planted a seed!
by OneDayillBeFree ini could be wrong, but i can't help but be a bit optimistic.last night my parents and i had our "family worship night".
i hate it, and i believe my mother does too.
my dad only does it because he's an elder but last night even he was acting like he didnt want to do it.

What is your experience when you stop turning in time?
by gingerbread infor the past year or so, i've been turning in just one or two hours of service time.
it has been mentioned to me from an elder "friend" that i'm never seen at any meetings for field service.
i get his implication.

It is one of the things I mentioned to them when they came visiting me:
I said: you are only visiting because people notioned you to come that had heared of my "new" ideas... not because of loving interest.
For me it was always the ultimate proof that it is not a loving organisation... it is a scheme :)

Another elder came and told me I'm not an apostate and no-one can judge me.
by Julia Orwell ini'll call him bear, like teddy bear because he's big and nice.
bear's the coboe, an intelligent but jittery man who suffers from a host of anxiety disorders.
he 'just happened' to be driving down my street after the group, and 'just happened' to notice i was at home, tending to some animals.

He sounds like a human... so he has got a fair chance to wake up ;)
I must admit i agree with one of the posters: do not trust him entirely (just to be shure). A slip of the tongue is easy to make

preaching work?
by Crazyguy inwe as jw's have always been told by the gb that the preaching work is paramount, they imply that if your not preaching that your not going to make it to the kingdom.
so what scriptures do they use for this idea?
the only one i can think of is the one in matt.

Interesting question. The bible states that the disciples of Christ went to doors in Israel... however... for a whole different reason... Christ says the following according to the Gospel of Luke in other translations:
c Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and d greet no one on the road. 5 Whatever house you enter, first say, e ‘Peace be to this house!’ 6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, f it will return to you. 7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for g the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. 8 Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you. 9 Heal the sick in it and say to them, h ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you, go into its streets and say, 11 i ‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that j the kingdom of God has come near.’
Jesus states NOT to go from house to house! They only went to houses to receive hospitality so they could stay in a city. The preaching work also concentrated around Christ. They preached that the Kingdom was in their midsts.
Also Acts chapter 10 states the following:
39 And t we are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. u They put him to death by hanging him on a tree, 40 but v God raised him on w the third day and made him to x appear, 41 y not to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as z witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And ahe commanded us to preach to the people and to testify b that he is the one appointed by God to be judge c of the living and the dead. 43 d To him e all the prophets bear witness that f everyone who believes in him receives g forgiveness of sins h through his name.”
THEY were eyewitnesses and so they had every reason to preach! Does that automaticly means that we should preach? I do not know for sure. I think telling about Christ when you have the chance and living a good life is the most important thing. However... we can not say we witnessed him... it makes no sense

Where else to go.I sticking up for the WTS.
by joe134cd innow i am going to do a rear thing here and i am going to stick up for the wts.
i realise that the wts hasn't got the best of track record, and sure they have made mistakes.
but if i was to go to another church wouldn't they still have the same issues.

Dear Joe,
It is a very good question and the answer isn't easy for a Jehovah's Witness... why? Because it has been hammered in our system that all other religions are bad and will be destroyed. They may be right about it but their backup with the socalled prophecies is weak at best.
Religion itself is a bad thing... the thing is that all these organisations have one big malfunction: they have humans leading them... and humans hunger at power and money.
So where to go? Can we be enlightened by Christ Jesus? Yes we can! Read the scriptures, soak it up without any explanation of a religion... and you will see that following Christ Jesus is something else then following a religion.
My experience is that I feel free now... free of the slavery of men.
