Why has nobody started a petition or writing letters to congress, etc?
by EndofMysteries ini can't be in the spotlight as starting this because of a family member.
but i wonder why there is no big change.org type petition going on with hundreds of thousands of signatures, etc.
or putting together a nice letter about how jw's religion breaks up families, claims to want religious freedom but those of us born in, or just in, are forced to accept their lies and anything they say or get shunned, and the devastating emotional, etc, effects on people.

A revolution starts if a lot of people feel the same way and want to act accordingly... that is where the problems start to begin: many of those who leave have different reasons and many have different family situations. So although a lot of people get shunned some just do not care too much. Also... what I notice is that MOST people that leave will have changed there lives within a couple of years and will have recovered mostly of their cultperiod. They do not feel the need to get others out or to help them by starting a war. It is much easier to change your life then to start a war you most probably won't win.

few, though, know about how not long ago it was considered a taboo.. first, there was that dc talk a couple of years back where they nearly demonized simply the ownership of a smart phone, ipads (i phones, blackberries, etc) let alone the use of them at meetings.
they brought out that they were a waste of time, expensive and that they exposed a christian to satan's world on the internet.

My DA letter is complete...
by DeWandelaar inas many know i have not been visiting meetings since one and a half year but it eats from the inside that i am still connected to this organisation (or any other religious filth).. i have the idea i am standing still and now i finally took a moment to write down a letter which i am planning to post on fb and to close friends in the new year.
i will probably send a smaller one to the hall to make it official there.
i will not do it earlier on because i am with family early december/januari but after that blam!.

I will probably send a smaller one to the hall to make it official there. I will not do it earlier on because I am with family early december/januari but after that BLAM!
I want to cut loose ends... januari 2014... 20 years from my baptism date I want to be DA-ed. I hope that I will have the courage to post it.

I think there is only one reason why they would "approve"... it costs a lot less money if all the bro's and sisters are using downloaded material. Think about millions of watchtowers less to print.

A new start? Watchtower renaming at HQ Columbia Heights

who was in any doubt that our jw believe is a marketing model, see this pictures of the still existing hq of jw at columbia heights.. earlier comments on jwn that something is going to change in the organisation, these comments are true.. in a few years we will not talk about the watchtower society, we wil talk about jw.org.
i think the current leadership will make a transfer to a new start.

I even think that they will change the look of the watchtower and awake in the near future to make it all look like one brand. The logo of the watchtower I guess will eventually disappear totally. You see it in EVERY move they make now. Would not surprise me if they would make an app in the future which will download new lecture automaticly.
O well... they are a company... and companies changes their housebrands every couple of years. It took the WTS about 100 years :P

Very Big (and Shocking) Contradiction in the Gospels
by DeWandelaar ini was visiting a website in order to prove to people that the bible can be seen as a very extremist book.. however... the site also showed some contradictions and although i am aware of most of them i came to one contradiction that was actually very shocking: the part that satan tries to temp jesus christ.
most of the gospels mention this and the timeframe shows that it happened directly after the baptism of jesus.
however... look at what happens in john!.

@Barrold... it seems you are right.... yet one might also think why a person like John who was loved by Jesus did not note anything about that important situation (he also do not talk about the sacrements of the last supper which is also strange).

Each gospel says that except John... John states that the day after the baptism Jesus started to call his disciples and three days after the baptism goes to the wedding. This in big contrast to going to the desert for 40 days in the other gospels!
