so there is this young brother probably 14 or 15 and the elders are already grooming him to do more for jehobadahhh.
most of the elders in this kh are old like 60+ and sometimes there are not enough brothers to do the mics or sound so you will see a 70 year old elder forced into action.
almost comical to see a brother who thinks instagram is an email service try to operate the sound system and projector as he plays the wrong song or brings the screen down during a prayer.
LOL, an elder said once that JW.ORG is only an email-adress.
I hate to operate the soundsystem. Early sunday, you be tired from the night before and miss to turn up the mic.
But I think there is also the good point: a stupid elder try to give you work but never talk to you in an other way. So you see very early, that the main part is work not friendship. And the elders can't talk to you as a friend. They talk to you in a friendly way like a boss.

Some ask why tech savvy. All communication, BOE-letters and much more been send via the jw.bOrg-mailbox. There different usergroups which be set up by the COBE has different rights to read, mail... So if you not tech savvy you be a risk in the structure.
what is it about making friends in the organisation am i the only one who had found it tough?
don't get me wrong there was some good people but unfortunately there was also a lot of egotism, back stabbing, jealousy and gossiping.
i could never really fit in any group, everytime i thought i had found a group it was as if i would be sidelined or ditched.
I think, there's a structure:
1) Nuts
2) Low Level Believers (think it's the truth but don't study anything)
3) Believers (think it's the truth and study only jw-books)
4) Hardcore-JWs (don't think and study hard)
And here is the problem with the teaching:
1) You avoid them, because they nuts.
2) You look for them too dub-style.
3) You look too much like 2) or 4)
4) You only access this area if you be a pioneer or so.
At the end, it's all based on fear. If you low-level you be connected, if you a hi one also. Everything in between mostly screwed.

hello everybody,i've been lurking for a while and since i really adore reading the biggest part of the posts, especially this italian ( american) guy about his experiences at bethel in the 70's, i feel a little bit guilty for not participating with my contribute.
i am really so sorry for the people that are suffering because of the wts.my story is a " happy ending " story, i married a jw almost 30 years ago and i am here to tell that we are still very happy.

i have been asked twice already where the book can be obtained in spanish and i have told people that the book is not available.. there are ways to make ebooks extremely hard to share.

I read you look also for good books they could help. A book which Ray also used in CoC is "The gentile times reconsidered" from C.O. Jonsson. A book which is only about historical reasons why 607 b.c. can't be correct. Worth to read.

i am almost done with my study and working on to become one of an unbaptized publisher.
She can and should use the argument that you meet in puplic, so she can argue that both of you play after the rules for dating, exept you unbaptized. If there any trouble, but mostly ask after a cong is typical JW-smalltalk. Keep calm.
And as the others told you: do your research about the teachings. Read "Crisis of considence". Don't do the dip. I caught inside, so belive me, if you trust the bible it don't mean you have to buy the JW-cult.
