  FINAL UPDATE ON MY PIONEER SISTER'S FADE

  my sister was a pioneer for decades.

  she loved the jehovah's witness religion with all her heart and nobody anywhere could have tried harder to live its teachings.

  but now, finally .... she's washed her hands of the jehovah's witnesses once and for all.

  MY SISTER IS NO LONGER ALLOWED TO PIONEER

  my sister, a devoted jw of many decades, has chosen to attend another church.

  she has been given a period of time to come to her senses and get back in line.

  hopefully, she won't make that mistake.. the way she's being treated now by her former friends and leaders caused her to remark to me, "i never realized before how much they are like a cult.".

  i'll miss this site more than i can say.. i do want to post what i consider to be a success story, due mainly to the information i've received over the years on this site.. .

  my sister is a long-time jw, a forever pioneer, etc.

  she's also poor, uneducated, and suffered a horrific childhood, but that's another story.

  Can Non-JW Spouses Receive JW Funeral/Memorial Service?

  my jw sister's husband is dying of cancer.

  he's never been a jw, though he has pretended interest for years, mostly just to keep her happy and hopeful.

  i don't believe he ever intended more than that.

  How can I get into Pure Language site?

  there is a jws-only site called "pure language" and i have links for it that used to work... (www.purelanguage.net) it was a good site for seeing what those jws who supposedly are following the straight and narrow jw path are thinking and saying when no apostates (or other non-jws) are around.

  unfortunately, it has been changed to now require password info that i can't supply since i am not jw and can't give the correct answers or congregational references.. can anyone suggest a way into it?

  my request is for reading purposes only since i have never posted in there and don't intend to in the future.. surely someone in here is smart enough to know how to get back into this site who might share the information with me.. thanks,.

  Can JWs attend other churches?

  i have an odd situation that came up during a recent visit by my long-time jw sister.

  on sunday she agreed to attend our meetings (lds) with us "to see how other churches do things".

  i was totally blown away.

  Why ban smoking?

  i have a question ... why ban smoking, but not drinking?

  if there is a religious reason to ban the one, why not both?

  which is more harmful to society in general, alcohol abuse or tobacco use?
