A Picture of My Daughter

here she is, my daughter, whose handle on this forum is roo!

this photo was taken on the day of her birth.. she was born tuesday, january 29, at 9:05am.

she weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

If the Dubs can do this why can't we?

have you ever been annoyed by the dubs bragging about how quickly they can build their kingdom halls (sometimes a weekend project) for so little money?

ive heard them boast that this is proof of being blessed by gods spirit.

but i wanted to float an idea out here to suggest something more constructive, both literally and figuratively.

St. Martin...Orient Bay. I could live there with my Sweet Hubby and kids.

Love that place. To me it's the best beach I've ever been to, and you can meet the nicest 'worldly' people from all over the world. I don't think I've ever seen a dome home there.

why would i want such a thing:.

i am lonely, and i know that most of the women who are jw's are concerned with them selves they want rich men with flashy clothes.. women who want prestige in the congregation saying look i got an elder for a husband see how he is taking the lead in my family in all things and giving talks at the assembles, i show him respect as man only because he has earned it in the fashion of a bride price.. thus the above relates to me to the extent my ex-wife got me to believe in all this negative crap, that i as a man was unworthy of god and my fellow members if i don't size up to all the religious do's and don'ts.. depression oh yeah i am that just like toy's r. us, traumatic brain injury then my a wonderful wife in good standing in the holy witness congregation of twenty-one years, dumps my sorry ass saying gee you have changed too much.

like duh, you have large portion of your brain stabbed and gouged from skull fragments and see if it does not confuse you or contribute to depressing you dear, of course no response she just goes and marries a known child molester of the congregation who then attempts it on my twelve year old daughter.. oh there's is much more so crazy you would think i was making it up, but who gives a flying crap, huh.. ~shane

You are going to be just fine! You've been thru quite the deal. Your life has been a juggling act. I know at times you feel very down and depressed, then you feel really good about yourself because you have made such advancments because you know the 'truth' is not the truth. It's enough to make the sanist of people think they are crazy. That's the way the 'org' has designed it. While, being a true dub, you were trained to always question the 'world or worldly', but never the org.
You have a huge family in the 'truth' and you love and miss them and still want them in your life. It's only natural/normal.

Shane, the situation concerning your daughter was and still is a major concern for us. Yes, I know you. Your daughter is also, having her ups and downs. She's seen a whole lot of garbage, but she will make it out. She spent Christmas Day at our house and had a blast. She's a doll. While we were jws, she was always at our home, went on ski trips with us, camping, etc. Just yesterday I asked my daughter about her. She said she had talked to her just the weekend before, they will be making plans for later.

What your ex-wife's perverted husband did to her, well....he's back in prison. The sad thing is she should have never been put in such a situation. Our hearts go out to you, and her.

Shane, as for trying to find the right woman, don't worry... she'll find you. Sorry you're going thru all of this, take care.

My Brother's encounter with JWs

my brother who lives in birmingham and is a doctor meet some jws on his doorstop.. they denied that the blood doctrine have changed inspite of my brother.

mentioning he had seen it in a newspaper.

They denied it, probably, because they don't know. Your brother has more info than the JWs at his door. Why, because he read the newspaper. The average JW who did read the article would just call it propaganda or 'new light'. The average JW doesn't comprehend the changes, that's why they have the HLC, so they can exlain to the doctors the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN AND WHYS OF THE BLOOD ISSUES.

Do you think these JWs will make a RV with an informed Elder? Let us know if they do.

Reflections over the year! Thanks!

hi everyone, i just looked at my profile the other day and realized that i'd started posting over a year ago.

in some ways it all seems so short this past year, like a blur in my life.

yet i feel that i've gotten to know so many of you so well, i can't believe it's only been a year.. one thing that's really strange for me is the fact the no one i talk to or know has known me for more then 2 years!!!

You are doing quite well and it's our hope that you continue. Having to start over is never easy. A lot of people who leave the org. have to deal with many changes and end up facing an identity crisis because of situations such as yours. Everyone they knew their entire lives are gone. They have to deal with a new 'trust' system. This board has been their only companion (friend). You, however, have some of your close family with you...you are fortunate. We are happy for you and your family. For those that you left behind, pray for them to join you in your new life.

My good friend, tell it like it is. I'm sure glad we got to go this together. Sharing pain, sure makes it hurt less, don't you agree?

Our 'older friend will be joining us for breakfast,also'. The chef says to be here at tenish. Hopefully that will be ok with you. If not we'll start eating without you. HA- HA- HA. Oh, by the way I ordered a free key chain from CIRCIUT LEASING (another WT org.owned business). It looks like a copy of the No Blood Card on it. I'm going to give him one so his wife can see it. V----e will crap.

As a parent of a 19 year old son and a 14 year old daughter, I say Yes we owe our children. We didn't plan on college for our son and now @ 48 (hubby 50) we need to do everything we can to replan & regroup to do this for him. My husband was in an accident about a year ago and my son stopped his senior year to help us. WE have lost everything (huge home, etc), but the most important thing of all that we salvaged was our family. All 4 of us are out and though it was tough at the time...WE SURVIVED. We as parents made these decisions for them and to find out that We were wrong was a hard pill to swallow. But, swallow we did and we are working together as a FAMILY
to go forward. We thought we were giving our children the very best by being in the org. Now, that we know we were wrong about the org. should not keep us from wanting them to have the very best life possible. You can't go back in the past and change things, but we can sure try to change their future and ours as well. Remember, our children are our future. Lov'm and don't want to live without them.

We're serving breakfast tomorrow morning. You will be here won't you. The chef will be cooking country ham, sausage, biscuits & gravy, fries and maybe grits. Oh, I forgot eggs, juice ect.....

Huey Lewis & the News is playing @ the Union Station tonite...and it's free. I wanted to go but have got a terriffic headache. It's cold out, so maybe it's best to stay bundled up & warm.

This is so nice. We were going to go to Palm Springs, but due to the Olympics a lot of our work is shut down for the month of Feb. So finances will be tight. Warmth, sunshine, no cold, these are the things we need right now, but will have to wait.
