Your best money saving tips here, please

larc's thread on coupons gave me this idea.. we all know coupons can save you a few dollars or more.

but how do you save real money???.

do y'all have any tips that you wanna share?

DO NOT HIRE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES AS EMPLOYEES!

(1) they will rob you blind and when you catch them redhanded, you are unloving and selfish. (It's not their fault, because if we paid them more they wouldn't have had to steal)
(2) they come to work an hour late, take a two hour lunch break or don't show up at all
(3) take off from work to go on a Bible study with the CO, and tell no one about it and you get chewed out because the work wasn't done. Lost a few wonderful accounts because of that.
(4) Will vilify you to the business you work for, cut your prices in half, and steal your account.
(5) Will use your business supplies to run and start their on business.
(6)they will take your business vehicles to go on trips and forget to tell you and then stick you for the repairs they had to make while on their trip.
(7) they will use all the gas in your vehicle and not fill it back up.
(8) they will lie about everything no matter how much evidence you have against them.
(9-1,000,000)I'm getting a weak tummy just remembering, I have to stop now.
I have had a few JWs who were excellent employees, but the majority thought that we should view it as a previlege to have them work for us.

One way to save money is not to be a JW.

Bryant family murder/suicide news 3/18

What a horrindous tragedy. The JWs are and will exploit this to their good. It is such a shame. The Bryants were spoken highly of by everyone except those in the JW community. The 'wordly' community there sounds as if they are showing christian principles in dealing with this tragedy.

Does anyone have an address of the Bryant's living relatives, so that I might express my sorrows(feelings) to them personally. I will not be rude, but would also like to include some good information that might be beneficial to someone someday. Maybe if we all sent a card/letter/apostate info they will know just how appauling they look to others. TherE was no suicide note, but to many of us here know that there probably wasn't anyone to leave it to. They were already dead in their eyes.

How do you think their remaining families would feel or act being bombarded with letters of sympathy from hundreds of apostates, DFD, DA'd, worldly, etc. We can at least try to speak for them now.

This is so sad. No JW family member will attend their funnerals, esp. since it's going to be in a CHURCH. What does that say to the community? I wish my finances were better I would try to attend.
Do you think the grandparents will at least try to get custody of the childrens remains and give them a loving and caring memorial service?
Maybe they are grieving so much that they haven't thought about that.
This situation really bothers me, maybe because their situation was similar to ours as well as others.

Churches...would a JW go

under what (if any) circumstances would a jw go to a church?

is it the building itself or is it church services they have an aversion to?

can they go under circumstances that are not neccessarily considered "worship"?

This will always haunt me. When I became a JW I told my DAD that if he had his funeral in a church I wouldn't be able to go, but I would go to the graveside service. I'm sure that almost put him 6 ft under, I can't believe I was actually so stupid and cruel. When he died he had the service in a funeral home chapel. The service was done by a preacher/pastor from a church. So what was the difference?

Here I was being a loyal JW, making all the new rules for them.

i'm getting the sore throat and i feel chilled.

i'm on the liquids and staying covered up.

Have you forgotten?! You should be going (dragging) yourself to the meetings today so that you can be taking in all that healthy spiritual food, not apostate chicken soup. Since you have a sore throat, you will not be required to sing, answer questions during the WT discussion, and to make small talk before and after the meetings. As for your chills, forget about staying covered up, just hand one of the elders a copy of the UN info, that will surely heat things up for you. You must refrain from taking in too many liquids before the meeting, because this will cause you to have to go to the bathroom and by doing this you will disturb many of those around you and they may miss out on the importance of the talk.

How many times as a JW did we hear why we should never miss a meeting. Once a CO gave a talk and said he grew up with the '3 F Rule'. What is the 3 F Rule? It is the scale for missing a meeting.

(1) Fever
(2) Fracture
(3) Funeral (most likely your own).

That was his council to the congregation to encourage meeting attendance. Wow, I loved to hear that man talk, as a matter of fact I think I had to miss his next talk because I just simply wanted to.

they used to concern themselves with not eating blood.. so, you had district overseers like br.

SEMEN....Oh, Heaven forbid, I could have gone all day(rest of my life) without hearing that. Are you really sure they use semen in food, pharm., and cosmetics? Did you read this in a WT or Awake? Please tell me you are just pulling our legs. Trying hard not to be a barf kitty.

Has Anyone Invited You to the Memorial?

the memorial is on in just over two weeks' time, and i was wondering:.

has anyone invited you to the memorial yet?.

my old cong knows my address and phone number yet no-one has visited or phoned to invite me.

I guess my family will not be invited, since our little family is suppose to be the most 'dangerous apostates' in Utah. Last years gossip was we were suppose to have had a huge gathering at our home to celebrate our own special memorial. We had a few laughs over that. My question is, if the JWs were at the memorial how would they know what was going on at my home? Another good question is, Were we even home that night? I love their lies, cause it keeps them away from me. But, this is the fuel that keeps the JWs strong.

Maybe this year we should send out invitations to quite a few JWs and see what will happen. No, bad idea, my time and money (stamps, envelope, spit) is too valuable. They'll just have to sip and chip without us again and I could care less.

Life goes on without the WTBTS.

Boosting Memorial Attendance

it would be standing room only if someone in every area were to go down to the local skid row and put the word out that there's free wine and crackers and all they need to do is sit there politely and it'll come right to 'em.... jrig

Yep, that would be a hoot, but think about how many would be approached with an offer of a free home bible study. Oops, but they wouldn't have a home would they? So, yeah, it is a good idea.

My heart hurts for this Dad. He is suffering, but think of how he would be sufferring now if he had allowed her to die. It would be so nice if we could contact him and give him LOVING support. Letters and cards of support would be nice, but until then let us all send our prayers. The depression he is going through will be unbearable and we all know he will not get it from the cong. and all those he loves.

Thankyou for wishing us a happy weekend. I hope this for you also. I feel that you are quite nervous about your meeting to be reinstated and I feel deeply for you. This is a decision that you can only make (excuse me the elders can make). I've read the other post and about how they feel. You are the only one who truly knows what you need and why. This could be very positive for you if you are reinstated. You have taken in quite a bit of new and 'accurate' knowledge and by returning you may now look at things in an entirely differnt 'light'. One poster referred to you as an idiot(vulgar)for wanting to go back, however, if you have doubts you could never be complete and would always question your relationship with Jehovah. I know this must be extremely tough for you. My dear, you are tougher than some think and I hope things work out well for you. Remember love shows itself in many forms, but true love has only one. I wish you well and that you will have the strength and courage to endure whatever may come your way. What I would personally do, has nothing to do with what you personally need to do.
