soso, I would not replied to anyone at all. I did it few times in case of people, with whom I studied WT teachings..And I regreted. It sounded, as you would like to explain something, that they understood their own way and blamed either way.

Apostate: From 279 Facebook friends to 81 overnight... thanks MOM!
by sosoconfused inthe drama continues, i log on to facebook this morning and notice that i have about 20 some odd personal messages from people calling me an apostate to they will return to me when i return to jehovah.. all of this based upon my brother informing others that i have "apostate thoughts".
my mother also encourage long-time famil friends to "unfriend" me because i have taken my stand on the side of satan... wow.
don't you just love this international brotherhood.

soso, my congratulations! you very quickly are cleaning your life from useless people..the same thing happened to me.. you will have new ones- who will value you as a person, not as cult co-member.
this journey is very interesting and will teach you much more valuable things and skills, than WTS membership. -

calling all elders - what goes on at the week long elders school?
by not bitter inmy dad is currently attending a week long elders school.
dad is in his 70's and not in great health at the moment so this is adding to my anger that he is having to leave the house at 7am and doesn't return until 6pm and then has to lock himself away to study further in preparation for the next day.. he has also been told he is not to discuss anything about the school with other elders until they have all attended.
what are they learning about that isnt' already out there for all to read anyway.. they can't be learning more bible stuff as the bible is there to be read by the general public so i can only assume that its all top secret stuff that the rest of the congregation can't know about.

Control doesn't necessary should be literal. It could be emotional. And it doesn't imply selfish motives.
That what elders are doing. That what they HAVE to do and they WILL do it, otherwise their qualification will be reviewed.
If you don't realize that you controlled others- you were tricked by WTS. They used you, as they used everyone..me as well.Oh, you were an elder? Another control freak huh? You're all the same. All you want is control over people and the WTS was or is you ticket to have it.

Totally disagree. That comment just shows how you are trying to influence control of how others view current and former elders. In fact, if you were an elder, it may reveal the reason why YOU beacame one.

Do you care, how others ex-JW will view current JW elders? Or, how they view former elders? Is it nostalgie?
Everyone in WTS is brainwashed, and elders( me as well in the past) are brainwashed twice, since they(me) were dare to ask mentioned embarrasing personal questions people, who will remember this shame all their life..

Do they also teach you to ask horrifying questions which involve women/girls and sexual acts? This has been a widespread practice, for years. Just curious if this is "elder" policy, or if this is something they do just to get themselves off? I was asked very personal, sexual things as a young girl in my JC with 3 elders I'd never met in my entire life... And heard firsthand from other girls and women who have been subjected to the same thing in several different congregations in all different locations of the US/Europe.
Usually, in such type of schools only basic points could be discussed. More specific situation could be briefly described in letters to elders. But basically, what type of questions to ask, elders who serve in JC decide between themselves.
You had some really perverted elders. Sometimes it happens. From the other side- who mostly become an elders in WTS? people who like to control others. -

Jack, thanks a lot for your story! but one question raised in my head and I would like to ask you something.
You mentioned==No, We can't just slam the door and walk away, but we CAN be awake and not be bullied around.
I was an elder too and once I realized that I was tricked by WTS, I was nit able to stand it anymore. I couldn't allow this mind control cult to rule my life anymore. And me and my wife just slam the door and walk away.. and never come back during last 8 months.. and have no regrets about it. Some our relatives accepted this and still keep relationships with us.. some don't. But just because we have no tolerance for hypocrisy, deception, and guilt-trips- as you, we left it.. We are still not DF'd, but honestly- we don't care about it.
I just want to ask you, why you still IN, since all your family realized TTAT? What now WT is giving to you?
