Now that I'm older I am comfortable in my skin....but I would say, I would change the emountional baggage that went along with my life and being a JW.

NEW TO YOU ALL...MY STORY
by rebuilding94 ini was born into the witnesses in 1962, i was disfellowshiped when i was 18, because i decided to marry a catholic.
our first son was born 4 years later, and thinking i had to teach our son about god, which in it self is not a bad thought, so the only thing i new was the jw's teaching's, and yes i went back.. it took them 11 months to decide weather they would reinstate me, 11 month's of no one talking to me, no one coming to see my new baby, allways leaving befor the meeting was completely over, so as not to feel any more hurt then nessecary.
after i was reinstated i proceeded to raise our 3 children as jw's.

Rebuilding,I know what that cold is like...yikes.It only gets cold like that here in Jan and Feb and I hate it.

by minimus inwhen you get baptized, you are expected to swallow a multitude of beliefs that either you never really understood or simply didn't truly believe in.
when going over questions for baptism, almost nobody understood the concept of the"faithful and discreet slave".
yet after it was attempted to explain this mumbo-jumbo, every candidate meekly just went along with the explanation without ever truly understanding the fallacy.

I agree with you there,one of the reasons I stayed as long as I did,I never knew any of the history of the WTS.I always doubted it,just stayed for all the wrong reasons.One was....what if it is truth and armageddon comes? I never had much biblical teachings growing up and it just sounded right.It sounded as right as any other religion would sound. BUT... after I have learned of other religions,the JW did sound more off.All religion has truth from the bible,they read the same book.They just enore some scriptures and use the ones that suit their fancies...

by Lin ini've been hearing a big uproar in the media about schools banning harry potter books, and parents who refuse to let their kids read it, etc.
what's the big deal?!
when i was growing up, we had bewitched, i dream of jeannie, casper, etc.

I don't agree with it ither..let them choose for themselves.Or even let each child have their choice of books to read,that won't conflict with their beliefs.

Elders Spying on JWs
by Yizuman ini hear crazy stories about elders spying on the congregational members.
i even hear of stake outs on member's homes.. anybody have any stories about elders doing crazy stuff that you have seen them do or even heard about from others?
meaning elders trying to catch members being in the wrong?.

She's in Hospital
by Yerusalyim ini dropped off liza at the hospital today.
bad mojo at first.
her assessment appointment was at 10am, we showed up at 9:40 and were the only clients in the waiting room.

I hope I find the right words to say to you Mike.I have to say you are a good ,kind husband.You love your wife and she is lucky to have you,I wish you true happiness. Waiting things out and taking it slow is a good thing...I would have to say,forgiving her is something you should do,for yourself and her well being ,despite all the hurt she has inflicted on you.(O.k I'm being too opinionated...?)She does need to deserve your trust and gain it back.You take care and I do wish the best for you.

Noidea and Myself's mother just passed away

carla and paula's mother has just passed away.
carla said that paula had been checking her post on and off all through the night and that it gave her much comfort in knowing that so many replied and showed that they cared.
