  Masonic Temple Used for Worship by JWs

  representatives of the jehovah's witnesses didn't show.

  but their work on the former masonic temple at 385 broadway was praised by the commission's executive director, michael wing.. the jehovah's witnesses are cleaning up, repainting and refurbishing the temple in a way that meets their needs for worship but doesn't despoil the building's original intent, said wing.

  a large masonic symbol in ornate floor tile has been covered with a circular rug, he said.

  Well,yeh I'm smart.

  I also think everyone is smart ,some people just have different gifts.Alot of knowledge doesn't make a person smart,a person can be high in intelligence but has never been givin the chance to learn.My son is austic ..I see alot of thinking and smarts in him.I think how people are raised plays a factor in how well we do,if we have parents who boost our self esteem,children are more likely to do well.If a child lives in a crappy home and has low self esteem,may not do well,even if the child is smart.

  Even if people have learning disablities,are smart,they just need to be taught how to learn with their disablities.Einstine(sp) had a mild form of autism and delixia.Even people with A.D.D are usally above average.

  when you look back, were you considered by others a "devout" jw?

  ( michael jackson and family as well as the williams sisters have been charecterized as being "devout").

  did you consider yourself sincere and devoted?

  Out of the 5 yrs I was involved with the JW'S.I was devout(but with constant doubts nagging me alll the time) for 21/2,the rest I was as they say sitting, on the fence.

  have you ever said anything embarassing by saying the wrong word because of what you were thinking about?.

  i once saw a very hot guy come into the restaurant where i work.

  as he was walking in i was thinking how much i loved his eyes (as well as some other things).

  What are You all Doing Here?

  a friend of mine recommended i peruse this forum because he is of the impression i would find it rewarding.

  the basis of his recommendation was due to a very long friendship and not due to any association (that i do not have) with jehovahs witnesses.

  he considers me his superior in intellect and wants an appraisal of this sight but to be honest i have neither the incliniation nor the time to get in deep enough to comment.

  i decided to start this thread, because so many time we go at each other because of difference of opinion.

  ( myself included ) but yet for me i love this place.

  i love the different opionions, they make me think, i love the freedom of expression, the friendships, and the expriences that make this a special healing place.

  I like it here,for the help it has given me,it sad that people go threw pain and the same problems and feelings.But,to know other people feel the same and go threw the emoutions,is helpful to feel we are not alone.

  I have been feeling a little down ,that it seems some people are getting angry and insulting ,to other people over what they believe or feel.I wonder if I should ever express myself..who may attack me for what I choose to believe? That was one reason I left the KH,no more control over what I feel and choose to believe.I like it here but I don't want to feel we are being judged for what we believe.If I don't choose to believe or I think it may be nonsense,I will let the person know I don't agree but I will try my best not to beat that person down.I think we have been beaten down too much.....

  Take care all and be happy.Good to have our brains back.....
